Ive had my fare share of difficult interactions with agents (those who seem to always favour the landlord over the tenant).. but thankfully, (and finally), this wasn't the case with Mary from Shenks. Very respectful, attentive and friendly.. most amazingly however.. she got me moved in within a few hours from viewing the property.. a huge +++++thanks mary.. an absolute star!!

FROM VIP TO CRIMINALA chatty, smile, soft spoken Mary greeted us at this luxury two bedroom apartment on Sailors Bay Road, Northbridge as we are looking for two years lease between house buying and selling. This particular apartment allows pet so we decided to go ahead.Her charming greeting indeed made us feel we are the VIPs as we would be paying $950 per week, $100,000 in total contractual value for this city view, two bedroom apartment.Two years on we found house and its time to leave. While we still paying the rent, I asked Mary to inspect the apartment that I have been cleaning in the past two full days.It was my lunch break. Unfortunately I got caught by a very important meeting and I couldn't be there on time. I got call from Mary, unsurprisingly.Her voice is angry and aggressive, it was so high that I felt I have just done something so bad that I was actually being condemned for some sort of crime. Her language was that I wasted her valuable time and she has inspected the apartment, her verdict is there was no cleaning done at all. She threatens that she will call professional cleaners and the costs will be deducted from the bond.One thing I have to admit, our settlement was late due to the wild wind causes power blackout in Perth. The bank settlement department lost power backup and system was down. We over stayed 10 days and the rent is overdue, that means potentially the rent is eating into the bond.Another thing is that the final stage of cleaning was done at 2 am that morning (moving and cleaning at same time), the room was not bright enough to see everything. We have been renting a unit from Mary for the last 3 years she has been fantastic to deal with and responsive to any repairs. She actually went above and beyond the other day and brought over a spare key (Sunday afternoon) to let us in the unit as we had manged to lock ourselves out. Never heard of a real estate agent doing that before, thanks Mary!
