An easy to miss but a hidden gem of a lookout on the great ocean road. Excellent views of port Campbell!

Fantastic view of the ocean and Port Campbell. However saw a small brown coloured snake not far after the first fork on the footpath from the car park so be alert.

A few km leisure walk. This trail is accessible from Port Campbell via a bridge before taking some steps up to the trail, do not need to drive to car park near the trail, the bridge looks new and well maintained, overall scenic walk if you have some times in port Campbell

Local's POV here, so I may be a little biased (you have been warned). Also, this review is one I made of the 'Discovery Walk' way back in 2013, that I've adapted from another popular review site (you can guess what it is). You can very easily access the Discovery Walk from the small car park (maybe five parking bays in size) that overlooks Port Campbell. A very short walk on a well formed trail, make your way down a short series of steps and you're onto the northern/eastern end of the Discovery Walk. Then, start walking... enjoy the views - particularly east, along the coastline to the 12 Apostles. The views are spectacular - of course weather depending. And, if you get as far as the western end of the walk (a 2km jaunt along the trail) you'll meet up with what the locals call the 'Two Mile tear drop' car park. So called because it provides a limited amount of car parking for visitors to Two Mile bay (which is, in itself, an entire other world).I used to walk the Discovery around 3 or 4 times each week, leaving from my business at that time, the Port Campbell Hostel. I'd access the walk from Port Campbell's beach. From the hostel, in Port Campbell, it's almost exactly a 5km return trip, taking me <50 minutes (tho' I'm not stopping to enjoy the views.) I'd suggest you could easily do the out-and-return walk, leaving from wherever your base is in Port Campbell, in under 90 minutes. It's a great way of filling your lungs with some really fresh sea air and does offer some truly spectacular views of the coast.Anyway, in short: a brilliant little walk. Plenty of sea and coastal views. Before I sign off, one warning. Come summer time, you can see snakes (tiger snakes, and black snakes. They're venomous, so accept that) on the walk. They will (sometimes) lay across the path, sunning themselves. So, keep an eye out for them - that 'stick' you see may not really be a stick at all. If you do see a snake, keep calm, stay cool and give them a wide berth. They normally will NOT attack anyone, unless they're stepped on or feel, in any way, threatened. So, respect that you are in their domain, they are wild animals and everything will be cool.

Easy lookout for you to access.Make sure you turn left not the right handside pathway. The right handaide will lead you to start the Port Campbell Discovery Walk instead. It is poorly signed but the view is not bad at all.

Poorly signed- as in, not at all, look out is direct left, not path straight ahead. Otherwise you'll be trapped into more of a walk then you'd think from a very small road sign that simply says scenic lookout… Plus stairs down the straight ahead pathdecent view over the townMore like the entrance to Port Campbell discovery walk.
