So I went to this place and gave the dimensions including depth for gravel supply. The guy at the counter gave me an approximate idea for 20tonne. I was amazed but didn't doubt his skills and calculators they use for estimations. I ended up ordering 14tonnes. After distributing everywhere even those areas that i wasn't planning for, i am here with approximately half remaining in front of my house. I have learnt my lesson so sharing this with everyone to be aware before trusting them.

I went in today to get some firwood, rang before going and asked if it’s okay for my to go as it’s a building supply store and they said it’s definitely fine.Was standing there for more than 10 minutes and everyone busy operating the forklifts etc and attending other jobs, told them a few times can I grab some firewood, I’m not after much , kept saying you wait here, I’ll be with you soon, went and came back , busy with other customers, when I told him I’m waiting he said we have to serve other customers?! Like am I not a customer who has been waiting patiently while holding a baby?And when I said I’m just gonna go, he just murmured whatever?!Very disappointed as I was aiming to support a local , but obviously they don’t care about good customer service. There are plenty more wood yards with excellent service and exceptional fire wood that I’m happy to do business with.I’d give them 0 star out of 5.

Great shop with a wide range of products. They have good sleepers I used as garden border. Good service.

Good and bad experience.The Bad.I gave them a call nice and early and got a delivery placed the next day.However the male that took my order was very condescending and impatient.I was rushed through my request as clearly he had better things to do than take a customers business.A lot of information was missed, quotes were all over the place and I had my call suddenly redirected to the invoicer who had no idea what was going on.The Good.The lawn was delivered quickly the next day by a friendly and obliging chap who was quite willing to forklift it down the road to my second gate.All in all the cons outweight the pros, 3/10I will definitely not be using this business for my next lawn.

I was lucky enough to have peter who at 87 years young is still doing doing deliverys in his tipper and i was pleasantly surprised when he said he was the original owner who opened newton sand in the late 70s.delivered on time with a smile

Just wanted to pass on a very big THANK YOU to Steve, i enquired about mulch i had to purchase for a customer, i was unsure how much and what type of mulch i needed, Steve took the time to calculate how much and what type i should use, i ordered it and was delivered on time and the amout was spot on.The customers where impressed with the mulch used. Ordered last Tuesday a Hunter irrigation controller, which did arrive yesterday, went on to install it and all is working perfect.Before placing the order I spoke with Ben and pointed out a small problem on their website with the pricing.
