My family and several others were told to come here to evacuate from the fires and when we got there it wasn’t open. Many other people arrived after us to find the same. The website said it would be open. We were scared, frustrated and didn’t know what to do. Really bad on their part for calling it the designated evacuation centre when it was hardly that. Perhaps a 9am-5pm evacuation centre? Appalling. McDonald’s nearby was more accommodating.
