Seeing all of the poor reviews I was expecting the worst. How pleasantly surprised I was.I was acting on behalf of three clients who were struggling to get their deposit back from a builder that continually delayed getting their building approvals.Sheree Stone went above and beyond in resolving this issue and I'm happy to report that all three clients were extremely grateful for her hard work.Sheree well and truly deserves this 5 star review.

My mate (a builder/carpenter) showed me paperwork that demonstrates how QBCC conducts its business. He did a significant building job last year, and his client failed to pay. His client then employed an unlicensed builder/project manager to ask the QBCC if my mate was licensed to undertake the work. Instead of checking the qualifications of the client’s new builder, the QBCC reported that my mate was not licensed to do the project! Based on this advice, the client said they would not pay for the work. After a 9-month review (!), the QBCC found that my mate was qualified and licensed to undertake the work (and why wouldn’t he for such a major job?). The QBCC admitted that they were at fault, but the client still refused to pay (and why should they, given that the QBCC can now no longer be believed?). So now my mate is about $100,000 out of pocket, which has impacted his company significantly – no doubt he’ll be paying off loans for years. So there you go: beware that the QBCC is wrecking legitimate building companies and does not want to take responsibility for fixing their mistakes. This example of activity by the QBCC has to be illegal in many ways, such as the QBCC not correctly applying the QBCC Act, or showing gross negligence as a public servant.

Looks like you found the worst government organisation in Australia! It took almost 6 months for a inspector to come after filed complaint, the result was they can't take action against the builder even though they saw the tiles fell off from 5 metres high at front door and leaks from where shouldn't be leaking, they just told me to clean it up, ugh, useless and poor. What's why so many doggy builders all over the cities.

Fairly useless organisation. While you're legally required to be a member to undertake your job, they are completely useless in their undertaking and fairly pointless. When a builder breaches their requirements and you lodge a complaint, it can take 4 months to even contact you to discuss. Then they offer to send a letter to them, despite clear and obvious breaches of requirements. However QBCC is very prompt to demand their money.QBCC is seen as a joke on building sites and their membership requirements merely a fine for being in the construction business.

USELESS, USELESS, USELESSAfter going through the hustle of reporting, having QBCC inspectors coming three times to look at the plumbing defects and confirming that they are defects, finally I was told no insurance as it passed the 3months warranty scheme!!! Well, you could have told me from getgo before any investigation takes place rather than wasting 8 months to hear this.Pumber was (Thomas Durnt Aicheson from TDA plumbing services) don't hire them.

Absolutely, the worst most corrupt organisation to deal with. Absolute joke. Lose your paperwork, adding long months of delay. Then, don’t follow their own processes - when they go to their inspections, illegally take unauthorise advice by unauthorised people. So therefore come up with the wrong decision because they believed completely falsified information. When you seek an internal review, they play the card that says run out of time. When you ring, the hold time is several hours, they disconnect the calls and don’t call you back, even though that’s the process. If you question, why they didn’t call you back, they explode over the phone in offended rage and hang up on you. They do everything they can to intimidate and strong arm and delay you from seeking an insurance claim, they are about greed & money. If you lay a complaint, they simply refer you to the ombudsman and pat themselves on the back. Action groups against the joke of a body exist. Just search for them on social media.

Have lodged my licence application ages ago. after a lot of chasing they rejected it only because of a loop hole in QBCC requirements. So I had to apply for an Internal review application. after 40 days of chasing my application with very hard working people at QBCC, they told me that they didn't have time to get to my application and only because a decision was not made within 28 days, now they can do nothing but making me to reapply for my application and start it from the scratch. what a lovely, hard working, reliable and professional people work there and we tax payers pay them to do nothing. The most interesting part of it is that, NO ONE, absolutely no one can make any one these people to be responsible for their work performance or behaviour.Oh yes, Ombudsman, we can take the case to Ombudsman or fill up an online feedback/ complaint form to waste our time; and then, some other people alike those hard working people at the QBCC licensing and IRU department will review the case and make fun out of it at lunchtime.I wish if I could rate ZERO stars instead of 1 star, which is toooo much for QBCC.

The QBCC inspector Is totally incompetent and doesn’t know right from wrong and he should be replaced by someone who has the proper knowledge.I had to wait for 9 months for his attendance to inspect a badly built shed full of faults. The roller door in particular is very hard to open and close and won’t last.He has written a report about the faults which is totally inaccurate and as a result the builder doesn’t have to fix them.I provided feedback on the QBCC site about the situation but had no reply. The shed is the top of the range (Platinum) range and was built by Kieren from Totalspan Jimboomba. Before I lodged the complaint I was told by a number of people (including the shed certifier) that the QBCC is useless and I was wasting my time. It turned out to be true!In the end I had to fix the faults myself.

Just had a second meeting with my QBCC representative, trades man is ONLY 30 days over his 35 day deadline from QBCC's original order to rectify. Representative has promising him to see what can be done for him (the trades man). Who is the commission supposed to be looking after, the tax payers that pay their wagers, or the shonky tradies? Even one star is too much for them but system won't allow you to post with out rating.

The QBCC is not helping the vulnerable home owners and what all they care is their source of income which is from the builder's licence renewal. The QBCC clearly told me that they won't suspend a builder or a licence holder because otherwise they won't have any source of income no matter whatever the licencee has done to the home owner.A builder ( Protego Homes Pty Ltd) left my house with so many defects and so many parts unfinished and QBCC did not even bother themselves to suspend the builder's licence. The builder has now been bankrupted and QBCC says that they won't be able to help me with any unfinished part of the house even through home warranty insurance.
