Indooroopilly Library

I really liked this library and how they offered tea and biscuits to all of us flood-affected people when we all had no power! Very friendly staff and lovely place to study.

More of a kid’s playground than a “library”…I completely understand and welcome that a library is also a community space where many events and activities are held, that is great!However, when ALL opening hours are noisy it’s hard to find the silver lining.If you are wanting to come to the Indooroopilly Library to read, study or work in a peaceful space, I would not recommend coming in.Recently, I got in at 9am and left at 3pm. In the 6 hours I was there, at most was an HOUR of an acceptable amount of noise for a library.When parents do not have the common sense to either ask their children to not shout and be more calm in a library or take them to a playground when their hyper shouting kids now start running around… I wish staff would step in and do something!!!

Pretty good place to do some reading, a game of chess, check the latest paper. Fantastic automated check in and check out of books.

Can get crowded during the latter half of the term due to students, so I recommend going early. Some people like to guard their seats by putting belongings on the seats they took and going down to the food court to spend hours eating, which can be quite annoying. Some visitors of the library are pretty sketchy and so it won’t be safe to let kids go to the bathroom alone. On a similar note it’s recommended not to leave belongings unauthorized when going to the bathroom.

Very helpful and friendly staff. I needed colour printing and they helped me set up a library account and even lent me a iPhone charger when mine ran out of battery to go through the verification processes!

Lady at the book checkout on Sunday morning was rudely yelling at anyone who was having trouble checking out or was walking faster than a typical normal pace. I get that walking fast is a hazard, but yelling isn't the way it should be addressed. A bit contradicting considering it is a library... and libraries should be a quiet place...

Plentiful and abundant set of books, that good for kids and adults allike. Busy things is a fun little place for kids to play on computer for a bit. Very helpful and many kids like reading here.

Lots of different areas with comfy armchairs to sit and read, some with tables & regular chairs, so you can study or do your crossword puzzle; Power points for laptops etc., Cold water cooler. Very good range of Movies, TV series, and Music, as well as non fiction, Fiction, Manga, Graphic novels, Magazines.Play area for children in Junior section. Games available to borrow.
