Out and About Healthcare Brisbane

My experience with this company has been very disappointing. I find it astounding that in 2021 they seem to have no formal complaints procedure, particularly for a company involved with differently-abled people and receiving a lot of business through government funding. I note that other people have had positive experiences but advise caution, as my sister felt very manipulated by one of the salespeople who then ignored her very reasonable questions in an email. It has been over a week and she has heard nothing. Perhaps if you have cornered the market you don't need good corporate practice? To update this post, the admin person from the company has just called and advised us to purchase a scooter in Melbourne because it will be easier for servicing and maintenance. None of my complaints addressed. Take note if you don't live in Queensland.Update: Glad to hear management are looking into it. I would appreciate some input into that process.Update: Wondering if I will hear about the outcome of management's investigations.Update: You will see below that it has been suggested that the issue was about 'pricing requirements'. This is absolutely false. This is the email which was never responded to:Hi Suellen,Thank you for confirming with Kylie that there is no possibility of reducing the price on the S-26 Verve you have quoted.Kylie mentioned to me that you also discussed with her the maintenance and repair process for the S-26 Verve. Would you please provide written answers to the following questions:• Can you recommend a company in Melbourne to repair and maintain the S-26 Verve scooter?• Kylie said the scooter needs servicing every 6 months, is that correct?• Do you know the approximate costs involved for each service?• What happens if spare parts are required?• How long is the warranty on the S-26 Verve?The reason I like to have details in writing is that I have had a past experience where a company has provided me with verbal information which they did not honour. Written information will help me to feel secure in my choice if I decide to purchase the Verve.End of email.My sister, on the advice of her Local Area Coordinator, asked whether there was a discount. We were totally satisfied when the answer was no. The management of the company at no time made an attempt to contact me regarding this, despite the fact that they stated they were investigating. An interesting complaints procedure, when it doesn't involve the complainant.Update: One year on and still nothing.

I love my new Brio 4S19F! It's so well made, so easy to fold up and reopen, and will perfectly suit travel/tours, etc. It's a beautiful shade of blue, even though that wouldn't have been my color choice -- but the sale price was irresistable. One couldn't ask for more helpful or friendly staff, either, which is very important when buying something like this online.

very disappointing, I have purchase a scooter in the beginning of the year and came with a default with one of the lights, so I phone and mention the light was faulty and asked me to check this light by checking the wires and all ??? but wouldn't you check the merchandise before you freight it to the costumer ? they also said I was reasonable for the cost of fixing their faulty light. this is a hazard and must take action also to add the part would take 7 months to arrive ???? 7 MONTHS seriously then the I request the speed to be adjusted to 10km max (Australian standards) and it has a top speed of 8.5 and 9 fully charged ? they mentioned I have to send it back to get it adjusted or take it to a mechanic .... can you just help me by speaking on the phone ? Real disappointing Out and about really caring NOT happy . and still waiting for the part . YES its a flat terrain : a flat road to be exact and Fully charged yes I understand Australian standards 10K MAX but why did you check for speed adjustment and light instead giving me the run around have to call or return scooter under my expense very poor management and roll bar is useless if it has a crack in the bar . cheap import mobility scooter that NDIS WILL NOT APPROVE for next person.

This is a speclist store of exceptional high standard s. The product knowledge across a vast range of products is really good. They are even happy to go onto the computer and compare other brands an give you what they find. There are many factors effecting the function of both scooters and wheel chairs. The team their do a deep study into what you need and what your intended use. Then they evaluate the environment. Them after all this they offer you a choice for you to try and see if you feel comfortable or not. Time in this process does not seem important to them there focus is on you and getting the right fit and that it meets the needs.

Purchased a Companion wheelchair from Out and about for my wife and at that point the service was good but when we required parts for this chair it became a nightmare.We accidentally damaged a cable to the control unit and as they no longer take phone calls we jumped through all their hoops and ordered the part online.30 days later and still no part. My wife has been immobile all this time and is at the point of breaking down. I know the reply to this will be a cut and paste reply saying sorry you have had a less than stellar" experience and we have reviewed our response and acted within our guidelines etc etc but the fact is we relied on your ability to supply and assist in maintaining our chair and you have not done so.Absolutely disappointed"

Angela is a Star - Excellent ServiceAngela was so patient and kind to my elderly parents 85 and 88 when we recently purchased a scooter for my mum. She took the time to discuss the different options available and let us all have a drive. She really Listened to what mum my mums needs were and was very gentle and friendly. Mums had two strokes so this was so important to us. Thankyou for ensuring our purchase was a stress free journey. You rock Angela.

Thank you for my new Golf X Scooter. I'll be honest at first I thought the Christmas sale price was too good to be true. $9000 discount who does that? After some research on Out and About Healthcare I decided to make the purchase. Well the scooter arrived last Friday. Wow!! The price is amazing, very well packaged and looks great!!

My wife and I were very satisfied with the way we were treated and our needs were met at Out&About. We met with Angela, who listened carefully to our needs and wishes and dealt professionally and cheerfully with us over several hours of our choosing. We finished up purchasing a mobility scooter and are very happy with the purchase. We found Angela's positive and attentive attitude to be so helpful to our process. We abandoned our enquiries at other places because they were nowhere near as helpful and kind as this dealer was. We recommend them highly. Thanks Angela for your care and compassion.

Worst customer service ever. Want to do everything by phone, but have no phone number to be contacted. Can't leave feedback on their site. If I want to make a complaint, I can send a paper letter to their premises. Welcome to the 19th century...I paid in advance to have my wheelchair serviced, but seven weeks later I'm still waiting on the service to even be booked in, let alone occur.Absolute waste of time and money. Do not buy your equipment from these people!I've given them one star because I can't give them less than that.

I have had no problem with Out & About till the company went to phone-less contact.I needed to replace my battery since 13th of December 2022 and a new footplate around the 18th of January and am still waiting
