'Spring' sculpture by Judit Shead
A small cast-bronze sculpture of a young girl (mermaid?) that represents the serenity of the surrounding area. 'Spring' is about 40 cm high and sits on a carved sandstone block which is about 75 cm tall.The sculpture was donated to Bundeena by local artist Garry Shead in 2008. It was made by his late wife, Judit Shead, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2007.It seems to me that the sculpture is waiting for someone to return on the ferry – but everyone sees these things differently.
