Flipboard Cafe

Like Melbourne's greatest cafes, this one is a hidden gem camouflaged right in the middle of the street, waiting for some eagle-eyed passer-bys to notice it. Once you get inside though, it's amazing to see how the owners were able to cram so much room in so little space. Hence the name : in here, everything flips and springs into place so that you can have (or not) your own privacy without letting a single square centimetre go to waste.The Flipboard is not just a cleverly designed cafe, though. The coffee is excellent (which is a trademark in the city of Baristas, but still), and the brownie can cut through your hunger (and a thick concrete wall) in no time. Bear in mind that the place is thought for commuters, if you're on your way to work it's perfect to get your day started and get going for a full morning, but if you're looking for a quick fix of caffeine you'd better go there outside of the rush hours.The prices are a little on the expensive side, but everything is good, the atmosphere is great, the service is top-notch and even the playlist spit some real classy tunes, so I couldn't find a better spot to fuel my mornings.

If you want to have one of the best coffee to start your day then come here. Awesome coffee, muffins, chocolate bars in short everything is yummy. Not only the coffee will cheer you up also the smart abstract interior will surprise you and icing on the cake is ambience and ever smiling friendly staff.

Not a bad coffee. But small cups used for large size & got half full of that as well. Price not cheap as well.

I can only ever get one single gulp of coffee from the tiny coffee cup sizes. The spinach and feta muffin is my heroin tho so can’t complain

First things first, the pricing is tad-bit high. I wish this wasn't the case especially being a shop inside the campus. The staff is really friendly. I want to point out the guy named Paul. He talks with great interest, he knows his customer and what they order, which is an amazing thing for a Barista. The sandwiches taste average and for $4.50, I have had better Chocolate Brownie. Brownie gets a bit oily on the outside which is not of my liking.The seating is very limited but, its a cozy place. I get my Flat white from here and tastes good. If they could reduce the price a bit then I would be happy to give them a 4-star rating. Until then its an average coffee place for me.

Went in today and ordered my regular coffee today. I asked the barrister how much their chocolate croissants were, $8s. I politely declined. When the barrister handed me my coffee he signed off with 'see you next time' which is code for a very derogatory term which I will not repeat here. I know this was a very deliberate slur. Needless to say, I will not be back. Unbelievable.

Been coming to flipboard at Frankston on and off for a few months now... but I must say I’ve noticed there’s a new guy Sam that works there who’s always friendly and actually knows how to make a decent coffee... even when there’s 20 people waiting!

Great little cafe. Clever design provides several nooks of seating both indoors and outdoors. Excellent coffee and good little nibbles.Edit: outdoor seating is now more limited due to pending construction next door (no more nooks in the wall apart from one).

Cute spot with decent coffee. Slightly more than a hole in the wall, but not by much. Discounts for employees of the big Origin office nearby.
