Rude staff lost my business today. I arrived with no one else in the cafe and the woman looked at me and said I won’t be a minute and then proceeded to slowly continue cleaning the floor with a dustpan. After patiently waiting for a while I asked do you think you can serve me please? The woman said I can’t make coffee and continued with the floor crumbs saying sorry in a sarcastic way. I said all I wanted was a sausage roll. The women continued cleaning the floor saying sorry! What the? This isn’t my first bad experience here either. Pity this local can’t look after it patrons. This is one small business that will always be small. Wake the staff up to their rudeness.I’m disgusted so please find some staff who enjoy working the public not these bored entitled housewives

It's the local cafe in the Margate Shopping Centre. It has a sunny courtyard. There are plants growing to pretty up the courtyard. Dining in? The cafe has been refurbished and is clean and neat. Cakes look good. It's a popular place especially for seniors.

Extremely overpriced food. In what world is a small frittata $10.90! The food was extremely underwhelming for the price and the service was very slow. When I went to order I was greeted with a slight attitude, the customer service when she charged me and handed me my food was lovely though.I would not recommend this cafe to anyone, as it’s a rip off. I can’t say anything about the coffee, but from what I’ve seen of the other reviews it isn’t good either.

Absolutely love the coffee! Every Thursday I have one with a client. They also have beautiful looking desserts and warm snacks also to purchase.

Best toasted sandwich on the peninsula. Real toast and not cooked to within an inch of its life in a sandwich press. Great work girls

I like to comment on Facebook and Google when I get great service or value. Flipside, I don't tend to criticize so much but I felt that I needed to on this one.I get my lunch from a few different places - Thai Hut next to me at Margate, Japanese place on the Upper Level at Kippa-Ring (next to Woolies) and I like Red Rooster drive though for a Rooster Roll. But when I went to Woolies at Margate recently, I felt peckish. There's a small cafe there called Le Cafe Noir (Translates to Black Coffee) that I hadn't been to before. I ordered 2 rounds of TOASTED ham, cheese and tomato sandwiches. This is what I got. 1 slice of cheap ham, two slices of tomato, barely toasted bread and a slice of plastic cheese. And the kicker to this? The price! $17 for this excuse for a meal. ($8.50 per round)I reckon the cost is about $2 so an 425% markup. NEVER AGAIN.

Had a wonderful experience. Ordered a sausage roll, the pastry was moist and fluffy, and the meat was flavourful and juicy. All for a reasonable price as well

Coffee and food ok.but talk about rude and arogant staff. Terrible. You would think that in a small shopping centre like Margate, they would at least try to have a positive impact..but no..They can get away with horrific customer service as this is the only cafe in the centre... and as most customers are elderly, and unable to travel much further, they just have to put up with it.I always seem to be putting them out when i order a coffee and they dont even try to start a conversation. I think i would get a better conversation talking to my wheelie bin.If you dont like what you do..do something about it as the staff that work here are farrrrr from happy!!!So i will never buy from you again. But instead I want to let others know that only a few kms away is an amazing coffee spot with staff that actually care about their product and the service they provide.. the shop also have a great view.Butcher, Baker, Coffeemaker down next to the Belvedere is amazing at getting it right.Le Cafe staff should come and see how it should be done!MC

This is a delightful cafe which we have visited many times when we lived in Margate. It is still one of our favorite stops for a reviving coffee and other tasty cakes
