Paid a visit to RSPCA shelter to donate some towels. Staff were friendly and appreciated the donation.

Very poor experience. Made a three and a half hour round trip to adopt and whilst accepting that there is a due diligence process hardly feel a minutes interaction with our dog was enough to make an informed assessment of suitability. We feel the assistant made her decision in the foyer before interaction with the pup!!

Thor has been with us one day now. Settling in well with Sally the 12 year old staffyx. Hes s a busy boy but so much fun. The staff at RSPCA Illawarra were marvellous and you can see the love they give the animals and have trained Thor well.

Found an obviously mistreated puppy tied up to a tree for 6+ hours without food or water, not micro chipped and infested with fleas. When taking it to this RSPCA we were met with bluntness and vague answers to our questions. When asking about euthanasia a staff member Karen gave us a vague suggestion that animals brought in would be euthanised if they were misbehaving. Then stated that my partner and I do not know that the dog had been mistreated after we stated the reasoning for bringing the dog in. This made us feel uncomfortable and unsettled with leaving this dog in her hands. There were no words of comfort or reassurance of what would happen. Becoming worried we come back three days later to take the dog to a no kill shelter where we were met with the same lady. This time she had given us all the information we had needed that should have been given in our first interaction. The fact that they would give the dogs back to the owners that had obviously mistreated them is disgusting. Another big factor is that Karen showed no interest or affection to the dog whatsoever. If you work at the RSPCA at least like animals.

My daughter and I went in to adopt a dog and found a gorgeous dog. Unfortunately the dog was not suitable to where they were living and had not been toilet trained as we were told and she had to take her back. She only had her 3 days. She did not receive a refund although she was told that they had a person all ready to adopt her and were going to charge $150 for handing her in. I think this is a bit wrong for somewhere that is just supposed to be about the animals.

Went in to hand in a stray dog we found that was obviously being mistreated, we were met with a worker named Karen who had rude attitude and was vague with information on what would happen to the dog. She also told us if the dog misbehaved it would be put down which made us really anxious leaving the dog there. If you find a stray or are looking for a better home for your dog please DO NOT give it to the RSPCA, find a no kill shelter. Rspca work on your staff and Karen work on yourself x

I met my doggo companion, Jinx, here, but even before we met, I was very impressed with the location, the facilities, and the staff -who were dedicated, informative, and clearly *cared*.It was a hard thing not to leave with another 5 dogs in tow :P
