Old Treasury Building
This place is amazing! Quite apart from the beautiful old building designed by a 19 year old, the museum blew me away. It is underrated and a hidden gem. We found it by accident during Open House Melbourne and was astonished by the depth and detail in the history that was display. I highly recommend every Victorian/Australian visit this place. There was so much information with photos, original documents (the executioner’s book!), news articles and personal stories. The people who put this together should be commended, they have done a fantastic job - it is up-to-date within the last few years. It is not publicised very well and the map location pin is not accurate for the entrance, but it’s a must see! I want to go back.

The facade is currently under restoration but you can still visit on regular opening hours. I loved reading the history of Melbourne and seeing accompanying old historic photos and illustrations. The massive replica nugget on display is a nice bonus too.

My fav place for sure. You could easily spend half a day here. Must visit the Gold Rush exhibition! And the history of Australian protests.I loved that there are lots of materials about women. The exhibition about women involvement in World War 2 is super interesting. The Lost Jobs exhibition is the one I came for and it didn't disappoint me.Coming back soon

The Old Treasury Building in Melbourne is a historic landmark that is rich in history and well worth a visit. The building was impressive and well-preserved, with a lot of detail and intricate architecture. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, providing a wealth of information about the history of the building and the city. However, I felt that we didn't have enough time to fully explore the building and take in all it has to offer. The building is also home to a museum and art gallery which are worth visiting, but we couldn't see everything in one visit. The Old Treasury Building is a great way to learn about the history of Melbourne and Australia. If you're interested in history and architecture, I would highly recommend visiting the Old Treasury Building, but allow enough time to fully explore the building and its exhibits.

Are you getting married here soon? For the last half a decade, I've photographed tons of wedding ceremony here and finally I'm leaving a google review! It's a true preservation of classic architecture, with stunning details here and there, from the grand staircase to the intricate moldings, every corner of this building is photo-worthy. It's the perfect backdrop for a classic, timeless wedding! There are a few different sized room so whether you're having a small, intimate wedding or a larger one, they can help make it happen!Oh, and let's not forget the building facade and the shadows cast by the structure around the stair / fence outside, these are yet another highlight and photo opportunity!Whether you're shooting during the day or in the evening, you'll find that the building's exterior and shadows cast by it adds a unique touch to your photo! If you wanna know more about some tips then hmu!

A very good museum with the entire history of Melbourne on show. From. Lifestyle to people and economics. I found the panaromic photo of Melbourne in the early 1900 and 2012 very interesting. The see the change of the city after 100 years is very intriguing. The place is not crowded which is great.

The receptionist was very kind and entertaining. I do enjoy looking a little bit of history. The place looked very modest. I was expecting a lot about banknotes, coins but instead I saw things on lost jobs, women at war, and some old furniture. Overall it’s still quite nice

Grand old historic building from the earliest days of Victoria’s history. Located in the edge of Melbourne’s CBD and overlooking the Treasury Gardens parklands it’s an interesting spot to visit. I don’t think you can go inside as it’s used as offices but looking from the outside gives you a feel for what it’s like.
