One of the best restaurants I’ve been to the food was 10/10 and service was also very good. Definitely going back soon.

Modern Australian fine dining in a hip but unpretentious restaurant. Amazing staff and talented chefs. Only suggestion would be to have more selections of wine by the glass.

Had the best meal in many years at Wolf restaurant last night. Food quality was second to none, and the service and atmosphere in this charming restaurant with a cozy fireplace, really topped off the night for my wife and I. We had tartare salmon and Queensland sea scallops for entrees, and pork belly and Wagyu eye fillet for mains. Couldn’t have been cooked any better. Gin and Tonics, and espresso martini complimented the meal perfectly. Give this place ago. You won’t regret it.

We were excited to try Wolf. Presumably, he ate the Three Little Pigs that were housed in the premises before Wolf opened. We had seen a good review, so off the new local venue we went. The first impression was not as impressive as we had hoped. Much like our previous experience at Three Little Pigs, we found the restaurant extremely noisy. Apart from lending the place some atmosphere and intimacy, some (any!) form of wall decorations or soft furnishings would help with the overly loud noises from the kitchen and music. To hear each other, patrons need to raise their voices, making it even louder; the place had a canteen feel to it.We ordered the Wagyu Beef (main), Kangaroo (entrée) and Scallops (entrée) plus a bottle of Shiraz. The listed Shiraz was initially not available, so an alternative was offered. Despite the listed wine’s sudden appearance, we chose the alternative at the same price of $58. It was delicious, albeit not cheap. But we knew the place was not cheap, and we were happy to pay.The meals were (as expected) quite small but delicious and perfectly cooked. A little rice to mop up the exquisite curry sauce that was served with the scallops would have made an easy addition to the dish. I suggested this but don’t think this was passed on to the chef. The kangaroo (quite rare and to my liking) was served cold!? I questioned this and was told that this was the way it is served. First question: why was that not mentioned in the menu? Second question: just why? Perfectly cooked and then cold? I still enjoyed it while my partner was delighted with his beef. He did need hand-cut chips as the beef was served with very little other ingredients. Whilst they did not really look hand-cut (unsure), the chips were quite nice. However, when a place offers fine dining with very small portions but quite substantial prices, one would expect top service. Whilst the staff were lovely, their knowledge was limited (eg. they had to check whether the kangaroo was actually supposed to be cold or not). They tried hard, but the generally very young staff (and there were plenty of them) were obviously not trained for a fine dining setting. I was asked numerous times if my plate could be taken, when my cutlery clearly indicated that I wasn’t finished (I was waiting for the chips to mop up the curry sauce). However, when both of us had finished, staff walked past our table twice, empty-handed, and did not remove the dishes.None of this matters in a low-priced environment like a bistro or pub. However, considering our three dishes and the wine came in at $178, we would have liked this to be a complete fine dining experience, with a nice atmosphere, trained staff and preferably hot seared roo. We give this 3/5 but may try again, once more established and refined.
