DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Alice Springs

Nice and comfortable if a little tired looking. Only had one night so limited time, the staff were excellent and friendly. Wifi was a con, to get it free you have to sign up to Hilton's club program or its $9.95 for 24 hours, like I said a con but not the staff's fault.

Cool showers only in the evening. Great breakfast and rooms were good if the water was hot later in the day

Disappointing…Checkin was mediocre, unfortunately things went downhill from there…I enquired where the parking was and was advised it was “North”, I located the carpark and inserted the cardkey I was given which failed to work. Luckily another guest arrived and entered, who I tailgated into the carpark. The carpark is extremely rough bitumen, to the point that luggage wheels are useless.The lengthy path from the carpark to the accommodation is a concrete but has become a virtual goat track, again requiring luggage to be carried, not rolled.I arrived at my room and again the supplied keycard failed to work, I phoned for assistance and after a 20 minute wait, someone arrived with a keycard that gave me access to my room.It had been a long day so I was keen for a room-service meal, however when attempting to access the menu and order via the room TV (by entering my room # and surname), the system wasn’t able to find me. Reluctantly, I walked to the Hotel’s Saltbush Restaurant for a meal.The staff and service at the Saltbush restaurant was good. I ordered the $48 300gm sirloin steak and $12 small bowl of fries. The meal arrived and the steak was literally as tough as old boots, no steak knife supplied - need I say more.Regarding the room, it was reasonably clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately it had an awkward bath-shower.I’ll not be staying at the DoubleTree in the future

Room is nice and clean with comfortable bed and modern facilities, breakfast buffet was great, dinner was excellent . Nice and secure with - fence around the hotel and car park to be safe for customers , excellent staff services , especially Hari who he is Food and beverage manager, he is very professional, he provided us a superior service , we have a wonderful time during our stay. Thank you very much for all the hotel staff fantastic service.

Very poor reception and no welcome from anyone given key envelope and no instruction how to find room?We were earlier informed our.package included 3 course for.dinner and earlier we eere give a menu and told to choose the 3 items from selections provided only to be informed when we arrived wd could only have 2 choices. Room nice but high charges unless you join their Hilton Honors program, not good, bit like twisting your arm to join!!

Fairly good location, but a bit far to walk into town. Room was good, once you can find it, could do with a bit of signage. we had a problem but was taken care of promptly by the maintenance staff. We were there for three nights and took the option not to have the room serviced. This was fine but there was no where to clear rubbish nor was there milk or coffee etc resupplied (a request for this was ignored). Breakfast as an addition was expensive. Restaurant staff at both restaurants and the bar were either overworked or understaffed but were basically rude. The other option was to walk down to the casino, which is what we did, but the casino is…Very little customer service. Front desk were more interested in training than dealing with the ‘invisible’ guests waiting at the counter. Not to the usual Hilton standard. So… room was good and good value. Service was atrocious. Food average and staff, moreover restaurant and bar managers were just rude.

Staff were lovely. Good location.Negatives were cardboard teaspoons in rooms, lukewarm showers. Had to pay for internet unless you wanted to join a mailing list. Missed the little things that make a difference. Didn't feel like I was staying in a hotel by the Hilton group. The bed was lovely. Overall the place is looking a little tired.

Such a lovely place. Fijian and Samon staff was super friendly, as others. This what you want on your holidays. Warmth and smile. You also need get breakfast option. Everyday you can eat different food by your choice. Funny thing we did made mistake and booked one day short. When we came back at 3pm when we should check out at 10 am, the friendly staff at the reception was accommodating and helped us to stay another day. Highly recommended, and the diamond in their crown, Andrew the peacock.The note to management - you have the right people on the bus. Thank you all for making our stay so pleasure ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A great place to stay with nice rooms and a selection of restaurants (albeit extremely pricey). Breakfast was extensive and lovely with fresh coffee and eggs made to your liking. The staff are lovely and attentive and if I were to return the Alice, I would stay here again.

The hotel is adequate but nothing special. It is tired and could do with an overhaul. The grounds are sprawling necessitating a long walk to many of the rooms.The restaurants are crowded, loud and busy. Reservations are a must. It is clear that they are still suffering staffing shortages after Covid. Meals were just OK... nothing to rave about.Our key issue with the hotel is that they charged us for breakfast each morning, even though our booking included breakfast. We produced a travel voucher from our tour operator to prove this. Still, in spite of the hard evidence, they would not honour it and charged us. Escalating to a manager made no difference. Our tour operator is following up and I am sure that a refund will eventually be obtained, however, the attitude of hotel staff make me question whether I will ever stay at a Hilton Doubletree again, even though I am a Hilton Honouors member. There are simply too many better options out there.Finally, the hotel advertises itself as walkable to the city. It is not. The distance is far too long for a casual walk.
