Kuranda Riverboat

The highlight of our trip to Kuranda! The tour guide was clear, funny and informative. We spotted a saltwater crocodile within minutes of boarding and learnt about their puppy like nature.

It was a very informative and fun cruise. The captain/guide was excellent with his commentary of the area. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience

We had a fabulous experience here, honestly was one of the standouts of our day.Cruise boat itself just putters around slowly and allows you to take in the scenery, stories from the boat captain and the wildlife. We were incredibly lucky to see three fresh water crocodiles and a pair of cassowaries.There is also a quick stop where you get to see a fish and turtle feeding, fabulous.Honestly, a standout experience! A strong recommend from me!

Kuranda RiverboatVisited on 15/7/2022Follow the signs after exiting the Kuranda Skyrail Station will lead to a railway overhead bridge. Continue forward and come down the bridge will get to some steps to the Barron River jetty.We did not buy tickets online, so we have to queue up and wait for vacancies before the departure time.The colour of the river is muddy green colour, and the boat can do with a facelift. Despite these negatives, the boat rude us an experience.The boat operator is also the guide. She is very experience. I suppose she should be, because she has been doing thus day in day out. In addition, she has a good sense if humour, and I am surprise I might see her performing at the Comedy Festival.The guide drove the boat to the opposite to visit her friend friend, Elvis, a cassowary. It looks like only his girl friend is around.Then then guide gives a run down about how to spot turtles and freshwater crocodiles in the river. It must be my bad eyesight that I have not much luck. However, I see some fish in the rather not so clear water.The first underground hydroelectric plant in Australia can e seen. It boat does not get that far to have a closer look.The water is rather calm. The surrounding is scenic, but I expect that being in a orge, the two sides of the river are flanked by cliffs rather than low lying walking tracks.

Great relaxing experience, reasonably priced and very informative. Great way to break up a day in Kuranda. Saw a lot of turtles and fish, then a cassowary with its young.

Been on a private charter with warren last 2 years. Beautiful late afternoon river to cruise on and nearly always get one of the best cassowary experiences in north Qld. Highly recommend doing this tour when in Kuranda

We booked this last minute and we agreed it was the highlight of our day in Kuranda. What a pleasant surprise. The boat guide was a lot of fun and very insightful. Highly recommend.
