Amazing service and quality hair, their extensions are high quality and service is five star. Keely is amazing, always friendly and provides top service. All the staff are great so you cant go wrong with anyone. Mel and Bridie are particularly fabulous, really great colourists. Thank you girls. I've been attending Carla Lawson salon for over 6 years and can honestly not recommend this salon enough. The quality of products on offer (namely hair extensions) and the service is second to none. Carla ensures that all of her staff operate with the highest level of professionalism and knowledge.A special shoutout to the amazing reception staff also, especially Keely, who are always there with a smile on their face and happy to have a chat.

Mel did a great job re-adjusting my weft extensions to fit in a way where I can do high ponytails without anything showing. She was also very lovely.Also, Keely deep cleansed my hair very well from what it was before. Leaving it silky and soft after drying.The girls at reception were also very sweet.

I have had Russian hair extensions for approx. 10 years and apart from my very first set of Russian hair, I have been purchasing Russian extension from only Carla since way back at her home salon in Greenvale. I had always been happy with the quality of the hair I purchased from her and continued to purchase hair from Carla after she opened up her first salon in Port Melbourne. I had found my own hair dresser who does extension relifts so I would purchase the hair from Carla and have my own hairdresser relift them and occasionally toned them to match my own hair colour. I have always had Russian hair so I know good quality Russian hair. I had my previous Russian hair for 5 years and looked after them so well attending the same hair dresser I had been using since I have been going to Carla.I got a new set of hair extensions from Carla in September or October 2022 and one month later I just did not feel like they felt like the amazing quality Russian hair usually feels like. The ends felt really dry and they were getting tangled unlike Russian hair that I had been used to. I was really unhappy with the new hair especially given I had paid more than $4500 for two rows of Russian hair. I contacted the salon after 4 weeks and spoke to one of the girls that work there and she basically said it’s normal and that I just need to be doing treatments. I advised her that I was doing treatments and that I only use the best products and she insisted I keep putting in treatments. A few days later I called again as I just didn’t feel heard and/ or that my concern was acknowledged but I was basically told the exact same thing. I felt really disappointed considering I had been seeing Carla for such a long time. I felt discouraged from contacting the salon again. I felt so unhappy with my hair but I am not usually a person that leaves bad reviews or likes to complain about services so I just left it until recently (after 9 months) I just felt the need to let Carla know personally about my experience. I messaged her mobile and told her I was disappointed. She immediately said come in at 3pm on the Friday that week. I went out of my way to go all the way to port Melbourne on a Friday at 3pm, take time off work and be stuck in peak hour traffic only to be told that there is nothing they can do and that the hair I had been heat damaged. Basically me or my hairdresser were at fault despite having told her that I have had the same hair dresser I’ve always had and that I have never had this experience with Russian hair previously. I had not once before complained. I was always happy. So to spend $4500 and damage the hair myself or allow my hair dresser to damage it is insane because if you spend this amount of money on hair you make sure you look after it like a baby. I had my previous Russian hair for 5 YEARS. That’s how well I looked after it and that’s how good the quality of the hair was. Whatever I said she dismissed it and blamed me and/ or my hairdresser. I would have expected to receive better treatment as she knew me I had been a long term client and knew I have not once previously complained. She could have looked after a loyal customer better which would have done better for her reputation in the long run. I was dismissed on the phone twice by her staff only after 4 weeks of having the hair and then 9 months later I was made to go all the way to Port Melbourne only to be completely dismissed again. There is no care factor once you purchase the hair.No I would no longer recommend Carla for her hair services of any type as her business has become only about making money now there is zero care afterwards if anything goes wrong. The whole vibe of the salon is not very inviting. It’s clearly just a business now.

My experience at Carla Lawson was more than I could possibly have wished for. The care and professionalism of every single team member there, from Keely at the front desk, to Mel guiding me through my welcome products on departure, meant I could not have felt more comfortable or more taken care of throughout.I began with the best blow wave I have ever had with Eddie. So much so I even second guessed whether I wanted my extensions installed next due to the body and style he was able to give to my usually limp hair (of course I am so glad I did!).Carla then installed my weft herself, working quickly and with precision until I couldn’t tell where my hair ended and the extensions began. The quality of her extensions are unmatched.Finally, Mel cut and styled my hair. Mel chose the perfect colour for my extensions which blend seamlessly into my natural colour. She is extremely knowledgeable and provided me with so much advice on how to improve the condition of my hair. Not only is Mel incredibly talented, she was also the nicest hairstylist I have ever had. I have already recommended her to friends and family and look forward to coming back for my next appointment with her.
