Purchased allnex flowcoat and was very disappointed with result. Stuck to the guidelines but the result was extra hard work removing the stuff from my boat hull. Tried to search the product in order to double check my application but the product is not recognised by their own available data.

Try to buy one pallet of resin from them for pilot testing. Tried extremely hard to get connected for a whole month. Finally the sales Paul Craig called back, but with utterly arrogant attitude and would not listen to what I said. Teach me on the phone the basics and refuse to stop. I have a PhD in chemistry and 25 years chemical industrial experience. Finally Paul gave me a ridiculous price quote even though I never even ask for price, and hang up.

The sales person was very helpful in selecting the applicable carbon fibre and resin for a road bike frame repair. Everything went very smoothly and I highly recommend this specialist to anyone wanting help and products in this industry.

As a spray painter I felt reasonably confident tackling putting an epoxy coat on a wooden table.I choose to go direct to a fibreglass manufacturer believing I would be sold the correct product and given the best advice.I had got to the point last night of believing, after four weeks on and off of coatings and waiting for coatings to dry, I had finished. This morning I find the top coat ( surf board finish, which I was told was needed to seal off the casting clear) was opaque. Why would I want an opaque finish over crystal clear, casting clear???I was not told this.I had many problems through the process, some because of the substrate, some because I suspect in the early coats I did not mix thoroughly enough, and some because I was not told what to expect from the products.Yesterday after hours and hours of work over four weeks I felt ready to apply topcoat. As I had so many problems I rang allnex to clarify where I was at and what I needed to do to apply the final coats. At this time I was told the surfboard finish had a working time of six minutes. If I had not rung I would have thought it had the same thirty minutes as the clear resin.I was very grateful to fund this out as I would have had wasted the product, fouled my spraying equipment and destroyed the finish of the table, as it would have gelled while I was still trying to apply the product.Again though, even after discussing it was going over casting clear I was still not told the surfboard resin was opaque. The table top had been routed out and items of interest had been set in the casting resin, as a bit of family history to reflect on.They are now barely distinguishable. If the table had been plain, it would have been acceptable but in this case I now will have to sand off the top layer and find a suitable top coat. Not from allnex! This will no doubt cost me a couple more days, more expense and I suspect a lot more headaches. If you need any help because you are not sure how to use these products, don’t come here for help or advice.

Used these guys for years. Composites require close adherence to SOPs, 25 years in the industry and I'm still learning. While no disrespect is intended when a result is less than expected 9 of 10 times it is the applicators fault.Would you expect a 20 minute chat with an account to prepare you to do your taxes?Too much catalyst or patch booster can cause discolouration. Incorrect ratio or product for thinning (acetone isn't thinner) can cause crazing or hazing. The fact is when it comes to trade, people who know what they're doing these guys are number, 1
