For most of my life, when I was living in Brisbane, I used Ted Bankowski as my dentist and thought his work was excellent. He was also always friendly and obliging every time I saw him. For that lifetime of experience I would give him 5 stars and a glowing commendation that people on the Northside of Brisbane visit him.Unfortunately, I have to give Dr Ted a 1 star review for the last major operation he did on me. He put a crown on a molar in my botton jaw to fix a tooth that was splitting. At first the procedure seemed to have gone well but within a few months I noticed a gap had emerged next to that molar which food regularly became lodged in every time I ate. When Ted next saw me he took an x-ray and said the crown had shifted slightly and that he could redo the crown for me free of charge but that it wasn’t necessary. I told Ted not to worry and that I didn’t mind a bit of extra flossing.Now, two and a half years later, despite my extremely good daily brushing and flossing, I learned at a dental checkup in Canberra that a major cavity emerged in the crown and that decay had spread deeply into the tooth. It turns out that I should have had the tooth fixed when I was concerned and saw Ted about it. Now I’ll need a new crown which will cost two and a half thousand dollars and possibly I’ll need root canal therapy from a specialist which will also cost thousands of dollars.I wish Ted had treated this issue more seriously when he saw me because I’m now paying dearly for his lack of attention to this tooth.
