Thanks Paula and Wayne, I absolutely love my exquisite French Louis parquetry dining table and chairs. I really appreciated your professional, knowledgable and warm approach to customer service and I felt I could ask anything and be treated with respect and care.The quality of the products but also the service simply blew me away and every piece of furniture is chosen with the utmost care and is absolutely beautiful and stylish.I felt like it was a healthy space to mix ideas and collaborate, giving me the confidence to mix period and contemporary pieces aided by your professional opinions, and also respecting my own, allowing me to achieve what I envisioned for my home.

I often pop into this local Paddington shop for treats for myself or gifts for others, they have a really wide range, and Wayne and Paula are very knowledgeable and helpful. The collection is brilliant and what they are able to do to customise furniture with a range of textiles is impressive.

This store has a great range of quality furniture, gift wares and décor collections, etc.I bought here a few times for a gift to family members and friends and found that I always feel welcomed.Customer service is fantastic, super friendly and always pleasant.I also loved how they gift wrap my purchases!

It feels like you’ve stepped into a fine Gentlemans Appartment. This is the best place to discover a beautiful unique piece of fine furniture, an electic stylish mix of antique and modern. Ive purchased artwork and gifts for Men and Ladies. The owners take pride in every detail and have a wealth of knowledge on interior design. Even offering free local delivery on heavy items.

Horrible customer service, rude and pretentious salesman. Don’t come in with a coffee unless you’ve got a coaster.

Ladies clearly aren’t welcome in the “gentlemen’s” apartment. I was browsing this store with the intention of buying my partner a leather satchel for his new job but was met only with rudeness and patronisation. It was made very clear very quickly that I was not welcome. I was in the store for about 3 to 5 minutes before the salesman came out from the back of the store. I had just used my phone to take a photo of a lamp which I intended to send to a friend for a second opinion as I liked it for myself (now there were two items on my list of things I wished to purchase). The salesman demanded that I do not take photos without asking him first in a tone that made me feel as if I were a child just caught stealing. When I offered my apologies he didn’t say anything, just turned his back and walked out into the back of the store. Having worked in retail back when I was at university I have a very good idea of what is involved in store etiquette. For example, it would have been a very different story if I had taken a photo of a piece of artwork as that is something that can be reproduced. But this was a small wooden desk lamp. Basic customer service might have gone a long way in this instance. Perhaps I wouldn’t have even needed to take a photo for a second opinion if I had been politely greeted and offered assistance in the first place? Perhaps this man could have told me a few details about the lamp, having noticed I’d taken a photo which very clearly illustrates that I’m not totally sure about the product. I left this store immediately and have no intention of returning. We are local residents and not only did you lose sales today but you lost rapport with a couple who would likely have been customers in the future. Finally, I believe this salesman’s attitude towards me was due to the fact that I’m a woman and I strongly believe he wouldn’t have been so belittling and cold to a male customer.

If you ask Wayne about any number of the antiques that grace the floor, you will understand that this is a man who not just sells furniture but who has a passion and deep knowledge of each piece, its heritage and history. You will come to understand that not only does he know the piece, that he has been instrumental in restoring and bringing it to its former glory – a rare skill in one person. Wayne is also one of the kindest, most patient and gracious gentlemen you are likely to ever meet.Paula is the other half of this dynamic duo. A visit to the Gentleman’s Apartment always feels like a visit to a beautiful gallery to me. Paula’s breathtaking pieces show her depth of skill and understanding of fine art. From still life to portraits to moody abstracts, Paula’s work would suit both a modern and a traditional setting. And to boot, I think actually Paula might just be one of the world’s most lovely humans.A visit to The Gentleman’s Apartment is a journey to another world. My advice is to take some time to appreciate the love and the expertise and the beauty of this collection. Every single unique piece I have chosen for my home and for my client’s homes are the hero in each room.
