Red Rocks Beach
Just a normal beach. Nothing really amazing. The parking lot is kinda small and it's right infront a persons house. The sand at the beach is really fine but there's a lot of this black thing which I'm not sure what it is. Decent toilet and an open shower together with benches and some BBQ pits. No 5 stars cause it's nothing amazing, but everything is good here.

Make sure to check out this beautiful and clean beach. Sea is calm, rocks are Red, carpark small but clean and with toilet nearby. Walk left for another 5 min and there's another great beach.

We parked at Ventnor beach and had a lovely walk down. Smooth sand and protected beach area for calm waters. Plenty of ppl having a snorkel because there are a few rocks in the water. Easy to walk along towards the Red Rock Beach further along on the map. Being in a “cove” area the weather is calmer and warmer.Lots of dogs in this off leash space. Kid friendly swimming spot so come for a walk along the sand then have a swim and try some snorkelling.

It was okay, I saw the red rocks. There's a lot bugs everywhere. There was bathroom facility. A lot of people as well. The water really clean...

Great swimming beach. Once you get to the beach from the main entrance go left and walk for 5 mins, much nicer water for swimming less seaweed and the water is deeper.

A small outcrop of redish coloured rocks. The beach is nice, very quiet with few people using it to sun themselves. The red rocks were interesting and certainly unique.

Great spot for a walk or a fish. The beach itself is quite rocky along the banks, and not sandy, so it might be uncomfortable for some people to walk along the waterline.Plenty of great fishing spots along the beach and on the rocky pier, great for squid an whiting.

This is a terrific beach for families with older children as they can play on the rocks or swim in the sea, which is generally rougher and deeper than the beaches on the northern and eastern side of Philip Island. There is a long strip of sand - yellow rather than white - but not much shelter so take an umbrella if it's sunny. Depending on the tide, you'll have a lot of sand, or not much, so it pays to check before you come.Amenities are minimal. A small toilet block and BBQ, and limited parking, but at least you don't have to pay to park. It is only 3.5 km from Cowes, but it feels a world away in vibe, esp. during holiday seasons when Cowes is jam packed and you walk faster than cars drive down the main strip. But it's the rocks that are the main draw. Apparently, rocks show red when they contain hematite, an iron oxide similar to rust. I'm not a mineralogist, so I'll take that as given, but whatever causes it, the faded red is more than skin deep - the names and initials carelessly carved into them shows that - and it is uncommon so grabs the eye. There are not many of the rocks, really, it's just a little spit maybe 100m all told when the tide is out. But rocks are rocks and you can't help but want to climb them, no matter your age, it's something primal. Unlike the typically sharper rocks of Western Port Bay, these are smoother - and slipperier - so take care scrambling over them, esp. when they are wet.Red Rock beach is a lovely spot to relax when the weather is nice, and an easy walk when its not, just far enough out of Cowes to make it a trip, but it's a trip worth taking.

If you're visiting Phillip Island, make sure to check out this beach. Specially if you have kids. Beautiful and clean beach. Sea is not rough so kids can enjoy. Great for a swim, kayaking or long boarding. You can try to catch a fish or two, so make sure to take your fishing rods.
