Kumon Balwyn North Education Centre

I enrolled my 4.5 year old in the program 2.5 years ago, upon a fantastic review from a good friend of mine. Personally, quite intrigued by the model itself, as it teaches Math conceptually.The most common reviews about this program in online forums are - worksheets seem repetitive, the program is quite monotonous and process seems boring.. However, none of the above seems true in our case and that is primarily due to the way the program is being run in this centre, by Sanjiv!He spends the time to assess every child individually, review each of their worksheets thoroughly, identifies where a child’s challenges are, works with parents to personally understand the child’s interests/aspirations and caters the program accordingly.My 7 year old has been quite fascinated by the approach, I can see him become more independent with his learning and in fact has developed a passion towards self-learning too. It has also taught him to explore and experiment with numbers in his own way.With the English program, we also see an ardent love for reading / comprehending complex passages with ease leading to more curiosity and quest towards reading.Not denying the fact that he has his own days of tantrums and boredom, but where we as parents and more so, Sanjiv helps is by doing a pep talk and motivating him to get back on the groove! I highly recommend this program for young kids, so they start early, enjoy the benefits and be successful self-taught individuals that can go a long way in their life!

Sanjiv, the director of this center is a very good and supportive man. In past 4 years, he has given us the best advices, always answered our questions generously and provide us with the best guidance. We really owe our child's success to him.

Sanjiv From Kumon North Balwyn is a wonderful educator & has given us personalized approach that has allowed my daughter to learn at her own speed, moving ahead in areas she excels at whilst giving the areas she’s struggling with the focus she deserves.

Our four kids are good maths students, however, I found that the school was not challenging them sufficiently, which is why I enrolled them at Kumon in North Balwyn. It has been great at allowing them to learn at their own pace and stretching them when required. Sanjiv has been great with supporting them during lockdown, when the schools were not providing adequate work. I have been very happy with Kumon in North Balwyn and recommend it regardless of your child's maths ability.

Excellent service all round. Sanjiv runs a professional institute focused on improving a child’s capability, providing timely support, positive reinforcement and techniques to improve speed of learning and execution. I’ve appreciated his ability to quickly identify strengths and areas of improvement to tailor learning approaches within the philosophy of the program, ensuring students remain engaged. He is extremely professional, courteous and a pleasure to interact with.

I am extremely impressed by the consistently high quality of service provided by Sanjiv and the team to guide my boys on their learning journey, particularly with the continuity provided during the pandemic. The program provides my children with discipline, material that matches their capability (rather than age group) and constructive feedback in a safe and supportive environment. They have achieved academic success and, perhaps more importantly, gained great confidence from the competence they are able to demonstrate in core English and Maths skills. I am optimistic that the mental strength they have developed will allow them to overcome any challenges they face in the future.

I am so grateful for the care and attention Sunjiv showed towards my daughter. He is professional, an excellent educator and kept me informed on her progress. He has many year experience teaching Kumon and I can’t recommend him highly enough.Kumon is an excellent program to help children consolidate their maths foundations. My daughter improved dramatically with her maths thanks to the Kumon system.
