Haigh Park
A good remote place for a day picnic/BBQ, camping on the other side of the lake. Every one suggests lake Mogera a star gazing spot and this how I found about it, unless you are on a high ground the trees will block your vision.

Beautiful place. Went camping and skiing at the local camp ground. The picture is from a top the dam wall looking down into the gully.

Haigh Park
Gorgeous spot, lots of shade, beautiful for a picnic or just a quick visit, entrance to the Mount Edward hike. If you do it, make sure you take grippy shoes as it can get slippery on the way down.

This area was absolutely amazing but there is not too much civilization around for the next 30 to 40 minutes. The area also has a camping ground and the views the lake are amazing come especially 30 minutes early for the sunset to watch it majestically dip into the mountains. Thee area is also not prone to light pollution so perfect to come for stargazing.
