I’ve been hearing good things about lotus, mainly from my wife who has been several times at the lotus galleries restaurant. Lotus at Barangaroo is located right opposite the Barangaroo ferry station and about 100m from the iconic crown hotel. If you have dined at any restaurant located at Barangaroo, the seating is a waterfront covered outdoor area with some spectacular views of Sydney.Not only is the view amazing, so is the food when. It’s beautifully plated and the quality of ingredients in each dish brings out the best flavours. Like any fine dining restaurant, lotus offers a banquet menu for those that can’t choose what to eat and just leave it to the chefs. Ordering a variety of Individual dishes is probably the most preferred option in Asian cuisine, to share around the table.Some of the dishes we had that I’d recommend to list a few would be:- grilled beef short ribs- wok fried king prawns- wok fried flat noodles with prawn cutletThe menu broken down into the following categories: dumplings, starters, seafood, rice & noodle, poultry & pork, beef & lamb and vegetarian, dessert & drinks menu.Be prepared to check out with an expensive bill, lotus offers premium quality food & drinks. Whether your there for delicious food or sunset drinks it will have great atmosphere and a unforgettable experience. The average cost per person including drinks would be $50-60 range, but depends on what you order and how much you order as well.Reservations is highly recommended in advance because it’s a popular restaurant in a prominent location and will get packed for either lunch or dinner.

Some of the food is quite good. The oysters were delicious. Sashimi was nice. The dumplings were way oversteamed and very soft and fell apart as soon as you touched them. The juice already burst out of the juicy shanghai dumplings which defeats the point of having them. The pippies were ok but I wouldn't order them again as we have had much better at other places such as xopp.Service was ok, some staff were friendly, others were not. But what I really didn't like was the tables are very small but all the food seems to come out in quick succession within minutes of each other so there's no where to put everything and we felt like we had to quickly eat everything. Basically we finished our meal in around 30mins. There should of been a bit of pacing between courses.

Outstanding and friendly quick service. The duck dumplings and the duck pancakes were to die for. Every dish was mouth watering. The staff were so attentive and so caring. They even sung happy birthday to me and recommended so many amazing dishes. Steve made my night as he was so funny and kind. Definitely will be coming back for such an amazing meal. True definition of great hospitality.

Excellent Chinese cuisine in terms of taste, presentation, quality and quantity. Wide variety to choose from. Their Manager, Maria, is friendly and very professional. I loved the Unusual Eggplant Dish (peanutty good!), and everything else we had.The only improvement I would prefer is that they increase their dessert options that's more Asian than western..

Expensive but mostly delicious. I have to say that the portions were small but most of our dishes were very tasty. I particularly liked the crispy chicken which was very tender and yummy. I was less wowed by the fried rice with duck which was tasteless and pricey at $32 for the bowl. We were 4 adults and had 4 mains and an appetiser and no drinks. Our meal was $85 per couple which was not a great value. However most of the plates were very well prepared and you are paying extra to be on the water at Barangaroo. Note if you want any spice ask for a heaping side of chili paste!

We took the full menu and we let them take food tot he table. Everything was special, nicely cooked and beautifully served. The quantities are important so better to be prepared. I did not appreciate the dessert being considered an extra but i can definitely recommend the place. The service was great.

Came here for celebrating Lunar New Year. We had a very good spot, even tho it was raining, there’s no problem because they provided the transparent blinds so we could still enjoy the view.The food was great. The squid ink dumpling was very interesting and tasty. Beef ribs was a good balanced with the sambal matah on the side. Also, the staff recommended us to add the seafood fried rice. Glad we ordered, it’s amazing. However, the rice noodles was a bit under taste for my liking. But overall it was good.

The Lotus Restaurant at Barangaroo provides the perfect setting for a long lazy lunch with friends. A very relaxing atmosphere to sit back, enjoy the harbour views and watch the world go by. The menu is creative and all the dishes we tried were absolutely delicious and a little different from your standard Chinese cuisine. The staff were fabulous. Very professional, friendly and willing to assist with suggestions of both food and beverages. Thanks to Baula and Bella for making our dining experience so enjoyable. The prices are not cheap but you definitely get your money’s worth. I would definitely recommend this venue if looking for great place to dine out with family or friends.

They were busy Monday eve but managed to squeeze 4 of us in. Kitchen closed early but they did last call rounds. We had duck pancakes for starters. The duck was excellent but there was not enough of the greens for all the pancakes. The truffle spring rolls were tasty but small. We shared 3 mains also and were so full we had to share 1 dessert. The flat rice noodles dish was under seasoned and had better at our local cheap Thai. That said, the ribs were awesome and the unusual eggplant dish was a surprise, 3 of us really liked it. Total for dinner plus 4 mocktails was approx $250.00

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My wife and I had lunch at Lotus for the first time last Wednesday. Very, very Impressed. The food is magnificent and the service impeccable. The extensive wine list is really something for them to boast about here with some very surprising beautiful cocktails. Getting back to the food, it is all served as a work of art and absolutely delicious. We both can't wait to get back there.CONGRATULATIONS to LOTUS. ****** ♥♥♥♥♥♥
