John built an elfresco area for us. Our home now had an additional room that we can use all year round. His quote was thorough and competitive. John kept us informed throughout the build and came up with some innovative ideas. He was polite and went above and beyond with a few little extras. We highly recommend John/Bell Rock Builders and look forward to having him back for future projects.

John Stepan was our builder when we did our renovation and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. He is highly qualified and displayed complete professionalism from interpreting plans to making worthwhile suggestions on possible changes to improve the design. He was pleasant and friendly to work with and was consistently punctual and hard working. Would highly recommend him for any building, repair, carpentry or renovation job.

Our most recent job completed by John and Bell Rock Builders was a full restoration to our dilapidated 80 sq/m deck. I watched in amazement as John took what was an initially under engineered construction to a rock solid, squared up, work of art... He even managed to source our beautiful merbau boards at a much better price than I had been quoted on several other occasions.Great service and a genuinely lovely bloke.

We have a 40+ year old unit that had a lot of work to be done, including a complete refresh of the bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedrooms. We got quotes from 3 different builders/brokers before we met John.The first big difference we found with John was the attention to detail, starting from the initial quotes where he enlisted every small detail so we knew exactly what was being done and what was covered as part of his services. The next thing is the care factor, John has time and again demonstrated that he cares not just by doing a good job but going above and beyond his responsibilities and making multiple trips to bunnings/other places and sharing pictures of multiple comparables so we had a choice. We had some major changes to the kitchen and John was very good about setting expectations and what can and cannot be done and at all times kept us informed. Now that he has completed the work at our property, I can tell you that we could not have found a better person.Another example of someone who cares, our backyard was not in a good state and needed some TLC (not something John has signed up for)... John just got it mowed, cleaned and he even saw the need to have a mat in front of the house and got one for us at his own cost. We will be more than honored to be a reference for John

I have dealt with Bellrock builders on a few renovations on 2 homes over a few years. With the first home, an area under the house was converted to a self contained space with a bedroom, kitchen, laundry and living area.The second house had an aged el fresco area which was completely overhauled with a large outdoor cathedral ceiling with laserlight. This completely transformed the area to a modern, functional space.Also this home had a large rumpus room with little light. John put in glass doors and windows leading out to a decked area. This again transformed the room and added functionality.There was also a conversion of a dated bathroom originally with separate shower and toilet to a modern large bathroom.Finally a spare bedroom was converted to an ensuite and walk in robe.All the renovations occurred over about 15 years.I have always found John to be helpful with design ideas, competitive quotes, helped with material selection, construction and clean up.I would not hesitate recommending Bellrock Builders for their professional and friendly service. I have been very happy with completed works done.

John has done three jobs for us - a tennis hitting wall, replacing a rotten deck and a new toilet. The hitting wall was done in record time so my son could play during lockdown. He was professional throughout and always had a solid technical solution for any problem. He worked hard to source narrow boards to align with the rest of our veranda. My only issue with giving Bell Rock Builders a 5 Star review is that it’ll be harder to get them to build a studio in my backyard and renovate our bathroom.

I have used Bellrock builders for over 10 years.starting with repairing the pointing on our roof. After that replacing all our windows and external doors. Next a kitchen renovation and more recently putting in a new viewing bench and window opening. John is hard working and very frank and importantly does a good job.

John's work is good and thorough. He did a great job with my backyard and several repairs in the bathroom. John communicated the progress throughout the job.
