The Lucky Dragon Chinese Restaurant

Ordered lots of food last night for a birthday and must admit that it was very delicious. All of us enjoyed it. The fried rice was packed with meat and the sauces weren't too heavy in the satay, blackbean and vegetable dishes. Thank you for separating the chicken from the honey as it was crispy. Will buy from again.

I am literally depressed that new owners have taken over. I LOVED THIS PLACE! Only the brisket and shallot cakes were really nice... And I mean REALLY nice. Annoyingly nice because the rest of the menu doesn't compare, all my regulars have either vanished or completely suck. The fríed rice is pathetic, tasteless. I live 7 minutes away and the sweet and sour pork was dry as a bone. So little sauce I was basically eating plain steamed rice with dry, extremely overcooked pork. Also judging by the comments, the owner is in complete denial instead of taking constructive criticism. Something I think they should seriously consider before they lose all their customers. Change can be good, it can also be bad. This is the biggest example of bad change I can think of.

I wish I could give 0 star, absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. Stood at the counter for 10 no one came to take the order. Save your money and don’t come here. They’re so rude.

We have been going to the lucky dragon for nearly 30 years and in our opinion was the best food in this area. New owners have taken over and the food is not good. We have given it 3 try's and wont be returning.The Fried Rice had hardly anything in it.The honey chicken sauce is so watered down it has no flavour.The satay sauce has no flavour yet is so hot with chilli it tastes horrible.The prices have gone up and the serving container size has gone down.I just don't understand why you would buy a restaurant that has been so successful and been there for so long and then change all the recipes?! Instead of opening up a new restaurant and not calling it the lucky dragon!! Because it's definitely not what is was.

I ordered just after 9pm via Uber Eats. Felt like beef in black bean sauce. Presentation was colourful including awesome variety of veg, the beef was tender and the overall flavor was perfect.

We ordered the 3 satay chicken skewers, cumin beef, crispy chicken with honey sauce / honey chicken and fried rice. Overall it was a filling meal, too much for just two people. The cumin beef had a great flavour, decent amount of beef and wasn't tough or chewy. The satay chicken skewers where also well prepared, not too salty and without a strong 'peanut butter' taste you sometimes get, it was also very moist.For me the fried rice was good, not too salty or oily which is how I prefer my fried rice, some people prefer it to have a more oily texture, but for me it's as good as I expect from a Chinese takeaway, I definitely wasn't disappointed with it. The honey chicken had quite a soft batter and unfortunately it was soggy by the time we got home to eat it. It seemed to be different to the classic honey chicken you would expect when ordering Chinese takeaway. It was definitely moist, and had a nice flavour, but the batter was quite soft and soggy this time. Overall 3 of the 4 dishes where winners and I would happily order again. The honey chicken I might give a try another time to see if any different. But overall, value for money I think this place is not bad and would not hesitate to try again with some more dishes.

Been going to this restaurant for 30+ years till the last order. Pork ribs and plum sauce, we got battered bone, no meat and cold. Fried rice, cold and hard, tasteless. Honey chicken, cold and tasteless, honey supplied in container tasted like water, and cold. We will never go back to this restaurant. Not sure if it has new owners. Very bad experience"We live 5 minutes away and started eating straight away. Stop making excuses it was horrible. Stop lying seriously."

Ordered combination noodles, chicken and corn soup, and spring rolls. Best Chinese food I've had in years! Absolutely delicious. Will definitely order again

We are sad that we have to even give this 1 star.Been going to the Lucky Dragon for over 30 years. Their Special fried rice was the best in the North East and all other food such as the Mongolian beef, delicious.We recently ordered food from the lucky dragon, unaware of the change of ownership which is not a bad thing, everyone welcomes change.However, the special fried rice was nothing like the previous. It was just plain rice with a few peas and prawns, no taste. The Mongolian beef, well you had to scrape to find it. It was just a few pieces of beef with a whole lot of vegetables and no sauce.Nothing like the previous Mongolian beefAnd to say your packaging is bigger, well this is not the caseSo disappointed, as this was our go to place.Please go back to the previous owners recipe, especially for the special fried rice

Feel so blessed to have this authentic Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood, the food here is gorgeous and tasty, the owner is super nice and friendly, definitely worth a try.
