I prefer to buy valves locally from a full-on tubehead who is passionate about valve technology and knows what he's talking about. If you just want to anonymously purchase valves online, The Valve Store is as good as it gets... but if you're up for some no nonsense, straight shooting advice about what's hot and what's not, Neil at The Valve Store is the man to talk to.

I'm new to tubes and live close by so popped in to see Neil to replace some ageing preamp tubes. Neil was open, incredibly knowledgeable, and spent a lot of time - way more than expected - teaching me all things tubes. Can't recommend Neil & The Valve Store enough!

I had a problem with my Atlas valve amp where one of the valves wouldn’t bias after overheating. I bought a new set of valves from Neil and the same valve pit overheated again. I took the amp to Neil and he sorted the problem in no time flat. The interstage capacitors were leaking and needed replacing. Neil gave me three price options for replacement capacitors and once I had chosen the Solens he had them airfreighted to Melbourne and installed within a week. Amazing service from someone who knows what he is talking about. I will have no hesitation going back to Neil should I have any probs with my system in future.Colin

Got myself a pair of matched Ge 5654, incredible difference in sound against 6J4, the owner is a genius, he really knows electron Tubes, and his system sounds crazy good especially the mid range. Will be a regular here from now.

Neil is another absolute legend! Knows his tubes in & out, a no nonsense chap and seriously no BS. Prices are reasonable, considering the economic situation... I just purchased a full set of output Tubes for my CJ monoblocks. Neil supplied matched sets of quads, since my amplifiers use 4 output tubes per amp, and they sound marvellous!Driving the Martin Logan CLX's full range, it's magnificent and awe-inspiring to experience this highend level of fine tube gear and the finest stats.
