I had some terrible experiences at 99 Bikes and would not recommend this bike shop to anyone. The service was absolutely awful, and the staff were completely unhelpful and unprofessional.On one occasion a few months ago, I had to wait for over an hour just to buy a simple bike lock. The transaction itself took no more than 2 minutes, yet the staff seemed completely disinterested in serving customers promptly.Today, I called the store because I needed help changing my punctured bike tube. I explained that I had attempted to do it myself, but ended up puncturing the spare tube as well. I also explained that I was stranded far from home, and the only bike shop open in the area on a Sunday was 99 Bikes. Despite my desperate situation, the staff refused to help me, stating that they were too busy with other jobs.This kind of service is completely unacceptable, especially considering that changing a bike tube should take no more than 10 minutes. It's clear that 99 Bikes does not care about their customers or their needs. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a reliable bike shop to steer clear of 99 Bikes. There are plenty of other bike shops in the area that value their customers and provide excellent service.

My daughter bike needed a overall check. Matthew took care of the bike like it was his own and made sure its safe to ride on. Matthew, thank you for your professionalism and an excellent customer service. Because of people like you BIKE 99 earn a loyal customer.

Bondi Junction Workshop: I brought my road bike to the workshop for a ‘standard plus’ service… after picking up my bike and riding it to work I noticed issues with the gears. Not aligned properly, slipping out of gear, not properly indexed and ultimately making my bike unsafe as the gears were slipping every time I put any power into the pedals. Further more, I started to notice that the right crank was wobbly and not straight… upon inspection I noticed there was a huge amount of play in the crank arm and In-fact the bolt that is supposed to hold the crank arm onto the bottom bracket was so loose that I could literally unscrew it with the tip of my thumb…. The 99 Bikes standard plus service states that the bottom bracket was inspected, which means 99 Bikes must have unbolted the crank arm and not bolted it back on properly.Upon taking my bike back to the workshop I was told that not all bikes that are serviced are given a test ride. Which is crazy considering they state that the gears have been aligned/tuned and the brakes have been adjusted… how can this be possible if you have not even test ridden the bike! Shocking.Wouldn't recommend the 99 Bikes teams to service your bike.EDIT: I contacted the manger of the workshop and they apologised for the experience and the poor service. We settled on an agreement for the bike to be fixed on a set date. The workshop need to replace parts of the bike which should have been spotted in the initial service. 99 bikes are covering the cost. Thought this was only fair to add onto the end of my review.

1 week after having my bike serviced at 99Bikes Bondi, I was merrily cycling down Old South Head Rd and was knocked off it by a 4x4 who completely distorted the front wheel and didn't even stop! I went back to see the guys at 99Bikes and Matthew (I think) commiserated and told me it needed to be replaced. Then he went upstairs, found an old 2nd hand wheel that he couldn't sell on, replaced the wheel, put the tire back on and then didn't even charge me for it - turning the whole sorry affair into an excellent story of goodwill :) Very happy customer, I would recommend their services to any bike rider in Sydney.

We took 3 kid's bikes in for a service on a Sunday, expecting to book them in.They serviced them on the spot!What fantastic, friendly service.Highly recommend 99 Bikes for repairs and new bike sales.

Always super helpful and friendly. Recently had to go in as a bike we had bought there a while back got a puncture on the wheel, No questions asked, they not only replaced the inner tube, but also added extra tape to the wheel frame and just generally spent time making sure the wheel was in good shape and trying to make sure it didn't happen again. Not sure what more one can ask for.

Good store. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable mostly. I did find a bike in store for my son that the staff said wasn't in stock anymore so they're not fully aware of stock levels. The parking is terrible though.

Had my trusty commuter MTB serviced by these guys despite never having had it looked at since I bought it 5 years ago. The team were very warm and knowledgeable and the work done was of an excellent standard and great value. Would recommend these guys 100%

99 Bikes where do I start! Every time I’ve been in store I’m met with friendly smiles,fantastic knowledge and all the gear! Chris is the shining star of the show. I went in a total novice, he talked me through all the possible items I would require and also was not too pushy with needing too much stuff. Every time I go in I end up buying more and more bits! Today I forgot my mask and they offered me one at the door. They are Covid safe and I would recommend anyone to use this store! Wonderful Service
