Great experience to come and see how Australian coins are made and learn about their history.Entry is free and booking the free tour is highly recommended.Recommend that you come on a working weekday so you get to see the factory in operation with workers.

A fun thing to do here is press your own coin. You get a fresh special edition 1 dollar coin. It cost 3 dollars, which is fine, but here's the catch: you need to bring coins to feed into the machine. There's no way to pay by card and the gift shop won't let you get any cash with a card. So just to get this into 1 sentence... To get a special coin at the Mint, you need to bring your own coins to the Mint. Otherwise, it was a great place. Just beware of the irony!

Take the free tour as it's very interesting to learn about the past. We walked around ourselves first which made it easier to know what they were talking about without getting up close

This was a fun place to visit as I'm sure the making of coins will soon be a thing of the past. There are free guided tours or you can wonder yourself. The gift shop let's the kids make their own coin for $3 and comes with a protective cover which is fun.

Are you in coins and do you like collecting coins ?Interesting in exploring, how it all started in Australia ? The coin journey. This is a place to be in. Anyone can visit this amazing minting place. Age is no stopper. You can come with family, friends and kids. Everyone will find it interesting. You can even mint your own coins. To mint you will need coins in denominations of 1 or 2 dollar. There is a limit of 5 coins per person but olease check with the staff. If you have cash I think you can exchange it for coins. There is car parking but depends if its busy one have to wait.Entry to the mint is free of cost. One can also purchase collectible coins you can see current collection in the shopping area.Enjoy this adventure.

The Royal Australian Mint in Canberra is an excellent destination for those interested in the history and production of Australian coins. The museum is well-presented, with informative displays and interactive exhibits. Visitors can watch the coin production process in action, which is a fascinating experience. The gift shop offers a variety of coin-related souvenirs. The best part is that entry to the museum is free, making it a must-visit destination for those on a budget. Highly recommended for both tourists and locals.

Brought my kids to the Royal Mint yesterday. Lots of things for children (and adults to discover). There is even a dedicated room for little children with pop-its, colouring sheets, connect the dot images to keep them busy. Lots of great information regarding coin and medal-making for adults. Has a shop for souvenir items and a coffee shop with lots of food choices.

Very interesting whilst you are there but it didn't take too long to see all of the exhibits. (45 min) The one in a million exhibition wad very interesting and the free public tour was a great way to get that little bit more information.
