Great place to see/hear live music, just need an extra person behind the bar.

The Back Room Brisbane
Absolutely brilliant venue for live bands, and I can't believe I got to see my favourite Fareoese metal band Týr live. Thank you for hosting them!!

Love this venue for gigs and the security have been so great and lovely! Far better experience with them than most other venues. HOWEVER low star rating is because the old blonde woman at the bar was incredibly rude and grumpy to myself, multiple other patrons and staff (the poor young girl at the bar looked very sad and stressed), turned her back and ignored me at the bar and refused to serve our designated driver lemonade and spoke rudely to us about our friends. Left a very bad taste in our mouths during an otherwise fun night at the venue, very unprofessional and unwelcoming.

Attended this year's Odinfest at the trusty Back Room, housed inside the immortal Chardons Corner Hotel (have been visiting this pub since I first lived in the area about 25 years ago). What to say? The Back Room is a no nonsense, no frills, no BS band venue. The staff are great, the stage is accessible and makes for an in-your-face, intimate experience. My most recent visit was primarily to watch the mighty 12 Gauge Rampage so, to hang out at the bar afterwards, chatting to the band members, was a huge added bonus. This opportunity epitomised everything this venue embraces. So, if you're keen to watch one of your favourite artists and they're playing at The Back Room, expect a great night, being served by friendly people and not paying a fortune to enjoy a few ales. Best of all, its location is really convenient to anyone living on the South side of the city.As a footnote, a big shout out to Odius, the headliners on the night. Some amazing local talent that are bound to go a long way!

Surprisingly large venue! Big sound, friendly staff. Great spot for some live tunes. Credit to the organiser for reeling in a good line-up.

Good venue this side of Brisbane, good stage size and sound. Nice vibe from the crowd and reasonably priced tickets and drinks.

Sound is OK, very low ceiling in the pit. filthy bathrooms & dive bar. Edit; has improved a lot. Cleaner bathrooms & bar is better.

We went to watch Inside Out from Fiji here. Great space, perfect size and good size private bar for it. Acoustics were great. Probably need more high tables and chairs but apart from that it’s a great little space!

The Back Room Brisbane
Quite possibly the worst sounding venue in Brisbane. Don’t like leaving these reviews but after attending Everclear, it has to be said the sound crew need to up their game. Conversations between ppl were easily heard whilst the band were playing. There was no mid at all - utterly gutless guitar. Drum and bass were ok but vocals were lost. The massive monolithic posts at each corner of the stage have got to go. They will be contributing to killing the sound coming from the stage. One positive, once you got away from the Stonehenge poles, the view was pretty good from the sides and front. Back of the room, there was no view.

Amazing space for all ages. Live acts, music and stand up. Has a little bit of everything for the family, games, drinks (none alcohol and alcohol) a space for new artists to thrive and one step closer to fame.
