Oyster and salmon sashimi are good, but the prawns are not as fresh as expected and bugs are small & over cooked. But nice location , good services and the on the ship style is unique, so worth a try.

Freshly caught seafood. From sea to plate. Loved the vibe of this place and enjoyed our meal on the boat. The prawns, lobster and rest of the seafood was so fresh and yummy. Simply the best. What a way to enjoy. Highly recommended if you want fresh seafood. Staff were super friendly and very accommodating. 5/5 Food 5/5 Location 5/5 Service

Really enjoyed our dinner here. The staff are friendly and don't mind a laugh. We shared a couple bug platters and a couple king prawn platters and they were great as long as you don't mind pealing!*Update* back again but this time the prawns and bugs were a bit on the small side (just bad luck) and a little dissapointing. They really need to make the hand washing area a little better and easier to use as your hands really need a good wash after a few platters.Seating is mainly share tables on vessel 2 and 3. The first vessel will seat 6ish people on one table. Make sure you book beforehand as we heard so many people being turned away.Beers are cheap but there is a limited selection.Well worth a visit!

I really enjoyed the venue, outside on a boat and yet undercover. Made for a very relaxing experience. The oysters were great! They were small, fresh and sweet my guess was Sydney Rock.Opted too for the whole lobster (they wouldn't do a half)The crayfish was a little on the tough side. Not sure if that was due to the cooking, type of crayfish (it didn't seem to be a southern rock lobster) or that it wasn't fresh. The prawns looked amazing... perhaps I'll go for those next time. They brew their own beer which was a really good pairing for the seafoodWent back again today... ordered the prawns and bugs... half size platter. Both were simply delightful... that and their beer combined with the ambiance are definitely the highlights here

Awesome experience at Prawn Star. Super fresh platters of seafood, cheap (and good) beer and a spectacular location. Good value for money too.

Such a cool place. Yes they only have the platters to order but YUM they are good. The wine is cheap too. You need to go. I wish they had melted butter and seafood sauce though (horse reddish and ketchup).

Boats tied together along the dock make the restaurant. Great food, wonderful ambiance. It gets very busy so service isn't always asap but they were very nice. Very cool dinner out.

What an amazing idea to have a fishing boat converted to be a fresh seafood restaurant. It is an experience that everyone should do while in Cairns. The seafood is so fresh and tasty you wont be disappointed. Well worth spending the money. Great atmosphere and good service give this place a try!! Would be a great night for a large group or something nice for two people.
