Took my 5 year old boy who had a fever and a sore throat. Doc was about to listen to his chest when my son got upset, the doctor tells me son, you can either help me or we can do it the hard way. He later turns to me to help tie him down. I was appalled by this behaviour and said give him 2 mins to settle. He will be better after which he was. But I was very upset by the docs behaviour and wanted to raise my voice back but didn’t want to be told that we are verbally abusing the docs and staffs. The nurse who helped was very patient and lovely to have with us. Also helped my son take meds which was very understanding of her.All this issue was during the night where there were no patients nor were there anyone waiting after us.

Last Sunday morning the staff at the Hub saved my life. On attending the Hub due to feeling sick with a strange feeling in my arms, I was taken into the Triage Room and within 2 mins I was having a heart attack. It was their prompt, effective treatment, the attention of the paramedics, the attendance of the helicopter team that delivered me to Monash Cardiac Care Unit! All of these wonderful dedicated talented people have the gratitude of myself and my family. For those of you who go there for a gnat bite and complain you have to wait or that someone wasn’t nice to you just think before you mouth off! I could be your wife, mother, sister, daughter or any other member of you’re family!

It’s called emergency hub but services are very poor. I have waited 3 hours. Nobody came to me for treatment. They just put me in bed for 3 hours without any medication then I decided to leave without medication, which was very disappointing for me. Nurses were just ignored me when I left that place.

Had cause to visit the New Phillip Island Health Hub..... 24 Hour Emergency Facility operated by Bass Coast Health and staffed by Doctors and Nurses from their Wonthaggi District Hospital.I attended this facility,on Monday 27th Jan, having been discharged three days earlier from the Epworth Hospital in Richmond, after shoulder surgery. As I had become unwell, nauseated, with a temperature and increased pain in the shoulder.I was seen promptly enough, and after being quickly assessed by the Triage Nurse.I was duly taken though to the Treatment rooms to be seen by a Doctor.Herein lies the problem and the basis for the low Rating for this Facility. The Nurse made three attempts to cannulate me but was unable to access a vein. She handed over to the Doctor, who then proceeded to make attempts to insert a cannula into my arm.The difference being that the Nurse used the correct procedures, whereas the Doctor did not. (Though that being said, the Nurse did not address the error that the Doctor made.) He failed to wash his hands and did not wear protective gloves during his attempt to cannulate me and his handling of the various implements, including the Sharps. When his efforts too failed, he decided to send me off back to the Epworth Emergency Department, from where I was eventually admitted. It was during this admission that I was found to have a Staph infection, which had been introduced by a containment ie; a needle. It seems likely (but remains unclear) that in all probability the infection was a result of the lack of cleanliness of instruments used at this Facility combined with the failure by Medical Professionals to observe correct protocols.I have my opinions on that, but will keep themselves to myself for the time being.Rating 2 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️Recommended.... sadly No, I would not. Ones Health is far too important to be compromised by Substandard Medical Care.

Too slow, out of date protocols, nurses and staff don’t like their jobs.We had to come here because pharmacies were closed. Don’t come here unless it’s your only last option.

We had an excellent experience at Phillip Island Health Hub last night. From security to admin, triage, the doctor and nurse - they made the patient feel at ease, provided assurance and even made her laugh despite being in pain with a burn. We were seen to promptly by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thanks so much and many blessings as you continue your important work in the community!

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience at the Hub medical centre in Cowes last Monday. The receptionist and Drs Peter and Hannah and nursing staff Maria and Maria and Indur really provided absolutely first rate service in a cheerful courteous and patient manner to me and to all of the other people who came in during my 6 hour stay. I was very greatly impressed and am most grateful for their care and support.Gareth

If I could give a zero rating, I would! They are rude, cold, and obnoxious! If they see people in order of seriousness, I am a category one patient with a terminal illness and last time attending was left to vomit bile for 3 hours before being given anything for pain! One doctor sat on his chair and didn’t move for 40 minutes, while he was on his mobile phone, meanwhile, there was a room full of patients waiting to be attended to! If they only knew he was doing nothing while we all waited. They get paid a fortune to do NOTHING there! I should know, after being tortured there many times! The medical system needs an overhaul. It’s filled with materialists and status driven doctors and nurses! Doctors take a Hippocratic Oath to uphold specific ethical standards. What standards are there to leave someone in pain for hours! You shouldn’t have to get paid a fortune to care. It’s a basic human principle that’s clearly lost on doctors and nurses of today’s society.
