Samford Lakes Accommodation

Lovely grounds but there were a few things that made our stay less comfortable. The ceiling fans in the cottage made a lot of noise but didn't provide much benefit as they're too high. And the road noise with the bedroom windows was very loud. Also we could not find any BBQ utensils for the BBQ on the deck. An extra set of keys would also be useful as with this many rooms we had multiple groups staying which meant we were having to do workarounds so others could access the cottage.

We stayed one night at the Spillway Cottage as a family of 7. The cottage is very spacious and feels very luxurious with the large bathtub and king size bed in the middle of the large lounge with a view onto the lake. I felt the price was a bit on the high side (450 $ for one night) although I assume it might get cheaper for several nights (I didn't check that one). The pool is huge and lovely. Perfect temperature for hot summer days but too cold for me if it's not boiling hot outside (am guessing 23 deg C). Nice tennis court. Perhaps the board walk could be extended to go right around the lake? One thing that annoyed me a little was the road noise from the nearby road but that can't be helped and it is not much noise (noise from such country roads can travel a fair distance). - This was our second stay there and I look forward to the next one. The place certainly has a lot of character!

Stayed here for a work event. Cottages are amazing, the barn and the other larger house are aging but full of Queenslander charm. Tennis courts, lake, and pizza oven were all enjoyed by everyone. Too cold for the pool on our visit but it looked immaculate.

Such a beautiful property! The view of the lake is stunning and peaceful. We enjoyed a kayak on the lake and sweated it out on the tennis court!My partner actually made a mistake with our booking so we arrived a week early (oops) however, Joanne and Norm were very accommodating and arranged for us to stay this weekend despite our mistake! Can’t recommend this place enough, we will definitely be returning!

Mixed feelings about my stay here. I booked for 4 nights, but the last night there was a wedding and they gave my room away. On arrival they acted as they forgot about my booking, but when I showed them the confirmation (I had payed a deposit), they tried to solve it. So the last night I had to move to another apartment in town. Not very convenient. The place itself is not bad, but the grounds are not big (you can’t walk for more than 5 minutes) and the road is very busy, so enjoying tranquility is not really the case. All in all not recommended.

A wonderful location for our event. Craig, Joanne and Norm were incredible hosts and went above and beyond to assist us in any way possible, making our job much easier. Our guests were blown away by the spectacular views and experience at Samford Lakes.We stayed at the barn loft but also had a look at the other cottages around the lake which were stunning!Thank you guys for being so helpful and accommodating. I will be back (hopefully for a holiday)!

We stayed in the Spillway Cottage for two nights on our honeymoon in January - such a beautiful cabin and location! Everything was beautifully clean, quiet, and comfortable. I would recommend some black-out curtains for the main living/dining area where the bed is - the room was flooded with light by 4:30-5AM, so not great for trying to sleep in a bit. :) Otherwise, everything was wonderful, and the hosts were very kind and accomodating. Lovely stay!
