Love this place! Has all the essential Italian groceries and a fresh deli. It is a little pricey. But worth it !

Great old style supermarket that needs an update but it does provide a great selection of goods as well as lots of imported items. There's a great bakery on site and there's a handy fruit and veg area with reasonable prices. It's in a handy location and so much better than the two big supermarkets.

UNSAFE FOR MINORITIES?! I Had a very unfortunate interaction with a young female worker at this store. After I’d literally PAID for my items the shop attendant told me she needed to look inside my bag (didn’t say please), slightly shocked by this as no one else’s bags had been looked through I opened my small tote bag and showed her the contents. She then proceeded to physically grab my bag and take an even closer look. Satisfied that I hadn’t stolen anything, she then tosses it back to me and doesn’t say anything, no acknowledgement and no thank you. The tone and attitude of this woman towards me was disgusting, she clearly sought to embarrass me in front of other customers. As a frequent shopper at this store it is disappointing and I can’t understand why I was targeted by this woman… I was in the store for only a few minutes and caused no trouble and gave no reason to suggest that I might be stealing. I hope that this woman was just acting out because she was having a bad day - I would hate my local supermarket to employ people who have a bias against certain identities.

Fantastic deli section with high quality produce. I always source my Kalamata Olives and Spanish Chorizo from Piedemonte's. I've tried cooking my Spanish and Portuguese dishes with produce from elsewhere and it's never as good. Even my 11yo son pointed out that I wasn't using Piedemonte's chorizo!

i had a wonderful experience at piedemontes, both at the registers and at the cafe. they gave me a delicious donut and coffee!! i love this place

Apart from a few rare ingredients that you can’t find other places, the supermarket is ridiculously overpriced and under maintained. In saying that, it is Melbourne institution and it would be sad to see it go.

This IGAs is pretty good.. A little expensive with some products, but if you do go there, be sure to check out their deli and their bakery. They have THE BEST fresh cakes, pasties, pies, rolls, bread etc etc... They also do a great coffee upstairs. Definitely worth a visit!!

If you want friendly and courteous service DON’T shop here. If you can put up with the surly staff there are a lot of great products on offer but the ongoing staff rudeness prevents me from shopping more than intermittently. Such a shame when the store could be great.
