I am so glad my friends and i decided to try somewhere new! We had an amazing dinner tonight at Zafira in Moonah.We shared many dishes and all dishes were absolutely delicious. I didn't get a photo of the balini (stuffed bread). The dipping sauce was so good (you can buy a bottle to take home too).The kebab was extra delicious! I believe the meat is cooked in the amazing dipping sauce (coriander chilli garlic vinegar etc).We are absolutely stuffed! I am so surprised that they weren't busier on a Friday night!Highly recommended! Great way to directly support members of the local Afghan community.There was also a selection of deserts available but we were too full to try these!

Zafira foods is one of the authentic Afgani restaurant in Hobart. Food is very delicious specially the mixed kebab. They have charcoal grilled kebabs served with rice. They have a long menu with veg and meats. Moreover they have a range of different desserts. Highly recommend. It is a halal restaurant. Check the time or contact with them because they are open for lunch and dinner only from Thursday-Saturday. Sunday is closed. Rest other days only lunch is served.

Really enjoyed a lovely Afghan meal. We had a couple of very reasonably priced tasting plates. The food was lovely. Much of the food has been pre prepared and is also available as take away. This means food is served quickly or readily available to take home. If you're willing to sit on cushions on the floor you can better experience a wonderful Afghan dining experience. Zafira is BYO. Great food. We will be returning and bringing friends.

I love afghani food but this was the worst food ive ever had.I ordered rice with chicken & beef kebab for 2. The order was take-away & I live about 40min drive from the restaurant. The box had about 5tbsp of rice & burnt beef & chicken kebabs. The rice tasted ok. Would have been able to tell the taste of the kebabs if they weren't burnt. Paid 60$ for the for 2 . Very small portion size.Wouldn't be coming back.In reply to your response belowIve mentioned that ive paid 60$ for a meal for 2. The serving size was very small even for 28$ a meal.If you were closing you could have not taken to order instead of serving burnt kebabs.Very disappointing response.

One of the worst food I have had. I ordered a chicken Biryani and chicken Qorma for dine in. The portion size for Biryani was good however, both dishes were just too bland, there was no flavour at all. Just a waste of $50 and food (as we couldn't even finish it as it lacking flavour). Also if you are planning on having Kebab, don't go here, they don't sell that anymore. All the food is already cooked, stale and sitting on the warmer and god knows for how many days as we were the only customer even on a Saturday evening.
