Cobra Waste Skip Bins & Recycling Centre

Extremely poor experience.sneaky hidden charges as well as delays.Ordered the bin for drop off as early as possible and they advised it would arrive between 7am-12pm.After 3 follow up calls and 3 x paid labourers waiting around for the bin it arrived at 1.30pm.Once the bin was due to be collected they asked what was inside the 6 cube bin which I advised it was bricks and dirt they then proceeded to tell me that it had a 4 tonne limit and i will be charged a $250 surcharge if over 4 tonnes which was not advised when ordering nor was it listed on any fine print on the invoice. The next day I found an additional $380 taken from my card with no calls to advise. I called up and they said that due to it being “grossly” over weight (with no proof shown) they had to charge me for 2 tonnes over at a cost of $380 dollars, so a 6 cube bin cost me over $1200 dollars even when they decided to show up at 1.30pm that day.Will definitely not use them in the future.

I spoke this morning with Lora, the manager, about a weeks' extra delayed pickup of a small skip bin. They don't seem to keep their word. In the morning they say will be picking up in the afternoon and when the drivers didn't turn up and then you call they say they can't guarantee the time. Don't think this company know what they're doing and I find quite unreliable and irresponsible. Hence wouldn't recommend to anyone and advise to steer clear of them. Reliability and guarantee on the word is the key when it comes to any service like this as the projects we all depend on runs with time and a simple skip bin shouldn't be holding up your whole project (now I can't get in or out because this is blocking better part of the drive way and other deliveries are reluctant to bring large items in due to this).

Stay away from this company!! Truck got bogged on my lawn delivering bin, two huge tow trucks later (at 9pm at night in my quiet suburban street) mine and three of my neighbours lawns were ripped up, huge branch ripped off my neighbours tree, driver was lovely and mortified at the whole situation, couldn't have been more apologetic, said his manager would call first thing tomorrow, no surprise no call so I called the office that afternoon and was told by Mel in the office that a manager would call me back, no call. Repeat this for the next four days, Mel says they are unavailable, left for the day etc but assures me the manager will call me back and send someone out to rectify. I have sent an email with photos of the damage - no response. OVER A MONTH LATER I am still stuck with their bin, a huge mess of my lawn, no one has called, they just keep sending drivers out IN THE RAIN who sit out the front, see the mud then drive off. Will be taking this further out of sheer principle.

Cobra Skips are the most appalling, perfidious, unreliable, tardi company ever to be in business. Just try them out and see for yourself.

Great price, and fantastic service from both the drivers we met. The skip did sit in our driveway for a few extra days, but with one quick phone call to double check it wasn’t forgotten about, we were politely told that there was some delays. For us this was not a big deal, and is something I’ve experienced with different skip companies previously, well before workforces had been decimated by Covid and isolation rules. I’d definitely use again, thanks!

Giving 1 star is because there is NO 0-star available. Really unprofessional when picking up the bin. No measures have been taken to protect the driveway and left significant damage on it. Other companies will put thick timber boards underneath the Rear Outriggers for spreading the pressures evenly when picking up the heavy bins. However, the driver did nothing when picking up the 6m3 bin fully filled up with soil. Made a complaint and came back with the following replyHi Jack

Have used cobra multiple times now. Professional staff, competitive pricing and punctual delivery / pickup. Delivery can always be scheduled easily however pick-up time is dependent on delivery schedule for that day. I usually give a couple days notice before the bin is ready for pick up and have never had a problem.

Update May 2023Best value for money skip bins. Over the past 12 months, Ive hired 8 skip bins from Cobra. Mostly 4 marrel but with 3s and 3s here and there.I cannot find another skipbin provider in Western Sydney that is cheaper than this company. Best value hands down.Also, the variety of waste that they accept is more than competitors. Soil / clay is not something many competitors are willing to take. Also, other companies restrict type of waste too much. You gotta hire a skip bin for bricks only, soil only, bla bla. This company you mostly dump it all in one bin.Delivery has ALWAYS been on time / schedule.Pick up hasnt always been on schedule. Sometimes a day late and one time a day early (early was rather annoying as I had some space leftover). But I keep going back because at the end of the day, its best value for money.The drivers and admin staff are super nice too.

Booked and paid for a skip bin for one day hire. Very clearly explained that the bin had to be collected before 9am on Monday due to the sale of the property and no longer owning the title. Assured that this wouldn’t be a problem. Called on Monday at 8am to check - assured bin would be collected by lunch. Called again early afternoon As bin still not collected. Assured it would be done in afternoon. Called again and assured it would be collected in evening. Bin still hasn’t been collected at 11pm. New owners of property upset as unable to access property. Have tried contacting the 24/7 service line - no answer and no call back when leaving a message.The delivery driver was lovely and very polite. But I’ve had no help, or understanding from Mel in the office. This bin must go. I will be calling fair trading first thing and forwarding all charges from the new property owners on to the company due to the delay in their ability to move in - no being able to access your new house is truly upsetting. Never have been so disappointed.

First time using Cobra for skip bin hire. Bin delivered promptly. Staff were extremely helpful in getting the bin picked up on my tight schedule. Will certainly use Cobra again for my next bin hire. Highly recommended.
