Silver Beach Baths

Hot day. Not crowded and very safe. Great for kids

Just a few km’s from Cronulla’s beautiful beaches is this quiet little beach to enjoy.

Silver Beach in Kurnell, on the shores of Botany Bay, is epically long. The Silver Beach Baths, a netted ocean pool midway along it, is appropriately epic in scale. It’s 200 metres wide and 100 metres from shore to net, making for plenty of room for everyone no matter which way they want to play.The hardcore industrial backdrop and low-flying aircraft arriving and leaving from Mascot make for an interesting contrast with the natural beauty of this lovely beach, giving the whole place a surreal Geoffrey Smart vibe… and we really like that.There’s loads of free parking and outdoor showers, but no change rooms or other facilities nearby. Next time, and there probably will be a next time, we’re going to bring some of our extensive collection of inflatable pool toys with us, as the calm waters, extensive scale and boundary net here makes it the perfect place to use them.

Went for a snorkel in the baths at Farkurnell with my young bloke, saw a couple of 3 eyed Kurnell fish, reminded me of a Simpson's episode near the nuclear plant! Was a good place for a dip.
