Great and friendly staff... but can we get an EV charger installed there? Would be nice.

What a beautiful ambience.It’s airy and huge.Many range and options for books, dvd magazines.Many computers, printers!Bonus- a cafe inside for late afternoon kicks!The receptionist are so lovely, polite and helpful.

Nice and quiet with heaps of facilities. PowerPoints for laptop use and lots of study areas.

I find it very convenient due to it being the only clean, modern, kindly staffed library in my area (reason for the two stars).However, it is extremely noisy! That cafe needs to be blocked out as it echos around the whole library.If I wanted a cafe background noise, I would have grabbed my coffee and sat inside the cafe.Also, I respect the efforts into making a kid friendly environment in the back corner of the library, but it would have been smart to move them into the rooms instead that currently holds nothing but chairs and tables.I truly believe this place has a lot of potential.It is sad to see that similar reviews were submitted 2-3 years ago and no action has been taken.

Carnes hill library has great facilities for parking, phone/laptop chargers, big tables, spacious area, clean toilets, staff are nice too.It’d be perfect if it wasn’t for the noise. A library is supposed to be a quiet place where people can read, study, and quietly work.Even with NOISE CANCELLING AirPods you can still hear the noise of the cafe (blender, chatter, staff etc) and children (constantly yelling, crying, singing, and constantly playing with the emergency fire escape door setting off the alarm).The cafe is literally right next door. There’s no reason for the window to be open, if I want a coffee, I’m happy to walk less than 10 seconds next door.This place has AMAZING potential if they controlled the noise.Some simple fix ideas are:1. Get rid of the children and close the window to the cafe2. Move the children to one of the separate rooms where they will not disturb everyone else and close the window to the cafe3. Move the children to the hall next door, there’s a big open hall/room right next door to the library where they hold karate lessons in the evening. During the day it’s mostly empty and unused.4. Change the name from “Carnes Hill Library” to “Carnes Hill Community Centre”There’s many many options and so many things you can do to make the library 100x better. It’s quite sad to see that people have been complaining about this sinceThis seriously has the potential to be one of the best libraries in entire of Sydney. It’s just the noise that’s holding you backIt’s such a shame to see that people have been complaining about this exact problem for 5 years now (since 2018) and still not a single thing has been done to fix it.

I think it’s fantastic that this library offers reading groups and activities for kids. If you are a student then the upstairs area is great for study. There are plenty of sections away from the area downstairs, but as a parent (and student) I think it’s wonderful that both are catered for.

Good experience. Ample parking. Nice and quiet place to study.

Such a good atmosphere, computers were easily accessible and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very spacious clean and bright library facility. The staff is very professional and friendly. The best part is the Cafe next to library.
