Beautiful country church, like a beacon in the paddocks. Superb stained glass windows. Built circa 1895. Truly worth preserving.

Majestic ... beautiful .

The foundation stone for this church was laid in 1898 and it is set in a beautiful part of country Victoria, situated somewhere in-between Benalla and Shepparton. It has the most beautiful stained class windows and church interior, and mass is held here almost every Sunday, officiated by a Priest from St Brendan's Catholic Church, Shepparton, for the local parishioners, and others.Through-out part of the year, the CFD (Comunita dei figli de dio or the Community of the sons and daughters of God - a humble Catholic religious community whose mother house is based in Florence, Italy) live in the Dookie presbytery and add their peaceful and monastic prayer-life to the place. They also hold small religious gatherings here, as well as mass and prayer.This church is well worth visiting, and is also surrounded by the beautiful yellow flowers of the local canola farms and the many kangaroos and Australian wildlife that live out here too!
