Highly recommend this pub. Great food and always ready quickly. The bar staff are super friendly too

Chose the Victoria hotel for a lunch stop while travelling. Good food, wine and service! We ate on the verandah although weather was inclement! Staff had no problem carrying our food and drink a little further which was nice! I've lunched there several times and always had an enjoyable experience. I recommend a visit!

Had a snitzel with pepper sauce. Was cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed it. The letdown was the wine list. They have a source of local fantastic wines but use other wines from other regions which most aren’t that great.

A really nice quiet pub/restaurant. We went with a few people, pre booked, service was quick meals were excellent, can't comment on the rooms as we did not stay.

I had dinner at this hotel last night. I don't often leave reviews except when I'm blown away! The food was absolutely delicious. We had walked in off the street, with no booking and it was after 7.30pm and the staff were all friendly, helpful and courteous.I had a chicken dish which was exquisitely prepared, tasted amazing and actually all cooked to perfection! Well done Victoria Hotel, Strathalbyn and congratulations to your chef.

This pub has really deteriorated under new management. For several years l have been a regular for a quick meal on a weekday. I enjoyed a ham and pineapple pizza with a glass of Mulberry Tree, usually outside in the sunshine. Now the snack menu no longer includes pizza. Bleasdale wines are no longer sold despite Bleasdale Winery being a LOCAL producer and winner of numerous awards. Furthermore, the front toilets needed attention when l visited recently. One had a messy floor. The other had the toilet roll dispenser stuck together with sticky tape. It crashed loudly to the floor at my feet! Not good.

So this place is a wee hidden gem. There was some issues, but really nothing can do about them. Like the lovely room I was staying in was first door on the fire escape balcony, so everytime someone open the fire door to go inside or come out you heard the door shut.So my mum came over from Europe so we've been site seeing and staying in hotels/motels whilst out exploring. Can say that so far this place has the best quality room and shower.Location is great as well, off the main road that you'd use from Victor Harbour to Murray Bridge so you dont get all that traffic.Service was great, the wee lasses in the bar and restaurant were awesome as the ladies at check in.Another issue, but again, nothing the hotel can do about it. My mum not good with stairs as they become a struggle for her. Why I included photos of them just in case anyone wonders. So just a wee heads up if you have problems with stairs. Due to the stairs we arent staying as long as we had liked to.The food was really nice, mum enjoyed her fish n chips. I had the curry which was set up like an all you can eat. My only problem was they were all to mild. I was hoping the Rogan Josh would have had a kick, but that's my person preference.

Had a very nice lunch here. A beautiful old pub with great food.

Great location in the heart of town. Comfortable clean warm rooms. Fabulous service great food at the pub! Reasonably priced.
