Rob's Resurfacing

We had a high quality Tasmanian Oak Kitchen resurfaced. Rob did a good job but then we found after about a month there were cracks in the joints, we took the drawer fronts and cupboard doors to his place - about an hour from here. After 6 weeks Rob returned the kitchen parts he had worked on to sort the issue - he did try hard. Same thing happened. It seems that some timber kitchen cupboards and drawers should not be resurfaced as they are made in two parts - coating over the parts causes the cracking not previously noticeable with the timber. We paid $4500 to have our kitchen updated and now Rob is blaming the 'cheap' timber kitchen. Expert knowledge would have been useful before the job was taken on, expert advice on timber kitchens and resurfacing issues would have been useful. We needed to do more research but trusted Rob. In the end I could have marked this down to a learning experience if Rob had offered some type of refund but he has not. So not only have we paid a lot of money for a finish that is terrible but we now have to go through the whole process again to bring our kitchen up to scratch - bench tops will have to come off, splash backs removed, electrical and gas, plumbing, retiling etc all need to be done again. Very unhappy.

Robs resurfacing came and did a quote for us & resurfaced our kitchen. The quote was exceptional and the quality of the job was amazing. The turn around was only a few days and he left our kitchen clean & tidy when finished. The communication prior & during the job was great, promptly answering all our questions.
