Hills Adult Dance

Fun class but a bit focused on fun (arabesques) over technique (turned out supporting leg, etc.) for absolute beginners ballet. Teacher is very friendly and does mention some technique tips but focuses more on choreography. Good and slow for abs beg and there are many true beginners in the class who look like they really enjoy the lesson. Would like more time at the barre (three exercises, no adage) but understand time constraints.OVERALL: Great for recreational dancers who want to exercise and have fun without going to the gym. If you want a technical class, maybe try the advanced beginners/advanced classes or find another studio

Hills Adult Dance Academy is a great place to dance, as someone who has danced my whole life I have had a fantastic time with HADA for the past two years, dancing in two concerts and meeting so many friends. It's not just for beginners, it's for anyone from a first time to someone who's danced a lot throughout their life. Everyone there is so welcoming and it's such a fun way to spend an evening.

I started at Hills in its first year and have been in every concert since, unable to walk away! The classes are fun, the amazing teachers are always able to work to our individual abilities whilst still pushing us to constantly develop our skills, and seeing your classmates after a long day at work is such a highlight. My strength and flexibility have improved ten fold and my confidence is boosted more every year. The end of year concerts (and the opportunity to do ballet R.A.D. exams) are always an exciting challenge and getting up on stage for our friends and family is exhilarating... I wouldn't want to dance anywhere else!

I bought a casual pass, got COVID and then they go ahead and cancelled three weeks worth of classes so my pass expired. I emailed them and they said the money would be in my credit, only it wasn’t. I emailed them again and they never got back to me.The no refunds in their terms and conditions means they can cancel classes any time and you won’t get your money back.The thing is the casual pass lasts three weeks upon purchase, but when I got COVID they had cancelled THREE WEEKS of classes so I never got to attend a class AND my money is gone.Update: this is in response to the comment below (I don't know how to respond directly so I'll edit my review). The cancellation occurred during term break in April. Classes wouldn't resume until April 26 however my pass expired on April 23.

If you are thinking of going back to dance or even to take your first class ever - this is the place to go! Sydney Dance is just too far away, their classes are packed and frankly - its way too expensive.Hills Adult Dance really fills a purpose by catering for adults who love dance and come to classes with varying dance experiences, techniques, fitness levels, shapes, sizes and ages. Very reasonable lesson rates too!I went back to ballet after a 6 year hiatus and never looked back. I had 3 red flags ready on my list for my first lesson. Hills Adult Dance passed with flying colours: No one made me do the splits (unless I wanted to) No one talked about losing weight and I felt completely welcome with zero pressure or a whiff of bitchy rivalry that can poison some dance schools. All I had to do was bring my personal best and enjoy the lesson.Michelle and all her teachers are extremely professional with high expectations of working towards mastering those tricky steps and techniques but they never suck the fun and joy out of a lesson. Most lessons are Open" - meaning teachers design their own classes and choreography to suit the students and therefore make them fun but challenging. Michelle is particularly good at giving feedback and breaking down how to master steps without slowing the lesson down for too long.After 2 years

Ive never been a dancer, and have absolutely no idea of what i am doing but i have so much fun at hills adult dance academy! the teachers are so wonderful, fun, friendly and understanding.would recommend to anyone looking to get fit, have fun, make friends and learn something new as there are plenty of styles and last but not least, its affordable :)

I've been a regular at Hills Adult Dance since the early days and still to this day it holds true its goal to be an open, welcoming and fun place to learn how to dance. I've had such an amazing time, seen my fitness improve and made so many wonderful friends along the way. Highly recommend Michelle and the team at HADA!

Hills Adult Dance Academy has truly re-inspired my passion for dancing. It was so difficult to find a dance school in the hills area that did not have the pressure to be the perfect dancer but rather a passionate one. There is an extremely friendly and close community at HADA and welcoming to anyone with the passion to dance despite their skill levels. I would high recommend HADA to anyone looking to fulfill their dream to be a dancer!!

Hills Adult Dance Academy (HADA) is more than a dance school. It is a little community where everyone has so much fun. Doesn't matter what mood you're in when you get to your class, you will leave feeling fit with a smile on your face at the end of it. For me it's the highlight of my week. Doesn't matter if you're an absolute beginner, the classes cater for every stage. The concert at the end of the year is amazing. This is my second year with HADA and I look forward to many more.
