Canberra Olympic Pool

A little run down, and not the cleanest pool in Canberra. However, the staff are great and are always happy to help out! I am often in the privately booked diving pool which is kept in great condition, though I understand if not in that situation people may find the main pool too crowded.

Excellent facility, warm change rooms and not too costly.

Arrived on a hot afternoon paid $16+ to take my toddler and baby into the pool, to later find out that the baby pool was closed and we could not take our toddler into the diving pool because she can’t swim unassisted. The other pool had laps only so there were no pools that we could use. Spoke to the very rude girl at the front desk on the way out and asked for our money back, to which she smuggly replied that she couldn’t process a refund because it’s not their policy. Apparently charging people to not be able to use the pool must be in their policy? At first she told us she wouldn’t call anyone because there was too much going on there today, we were happy to wait. The young guy who came also said we couldn’t have a refund but would give us a pass to return. Why would we want to return to a pool that we cannot swim at? Had we been told when we came into the pool that there were no pools suitable for our children, we would have just left. Instead we feel ripped off to have paid for nothing. Really poor form, worst experience since we’ve moved to Canberra. Would have given zero stars if google would allow it.

Terrible experience rude staff, long walk over grass from pool. Pool seriously needs to be redone. Didn't let my kids walk around in the toddler pool without supervision it's 0.8m deep and they are 10 & 12 overall terrible experience

Just OK. At the end of the day, I went there for a swim and enjoyed the swim. Facility needs a MAJOR upgrade. Bottom of the pool was in bad need of a paint job and the bathrooms/change-rooms were terrible. I get that its a YMCA but someone has to spend some $$$ on an upgrade.

Great pool... I was there early in the morning in Autumn so the cover was over, but at about 9:30am they open the side... it was lovely. The water temperature was perfect... easiest 2km I’ve done! There were even heaters in the change rooms. I would love to come back in Summer and hang out all day, as there were some other pools I didn’t get to try, including a diving pool!

Once your child is enrolled in lessons they seem to think they're entitled to debit your bank account for life. After my child graduated at the end of the year, we were told we would need to re-enrol for the next level. We decided not to continue, yet lo and behold, this year they kept billing us. When we complained, were told that we have to give them 2 weeks notice! Fees for no service and auto-renew payment scam. You would think with all that extra money they're ripping off people, they could afford to renovate the place a bit.

Great in summer especially the big outdoor pool. Friendly service. Change rooms need bit of improvement.

Can be hard to get an uncrouded lane with swim groups booking lanes up, it is an old pool and doesnt feel super clean. With the cost of parking as well as admission makes it very expensive. But, if you need a 50 metre pool indoors it does the job.

Pretty poor. $8.30 (including cc fee) which would make it the most expensive public pool I’ve used. Facilities are very run down and old. Pool is very shallow for most of its length. When I visited only 2 lanes were made available to the public (from 8). 6 people in each public lane. Very poor facility for the nations capital.
