Great accommodation, stayed here over new years. There's a good fireworks view point nearby, not too crowded. The rooms themselves are fine, happy to find my own towel and a comfortable bed. The strongest point of this hotel/hostel is the incredibly helpfull and friendly staff.

I helped my sister moving from the airport to Greenwich Village for her a week staying there, the staffs and services were excellent, warm and friendly welcoming. They provide all facilities for short and long-term staying, so comfortable. The room cleanliness randomly depends on the roommates, for my sister, the roommate's stayed there for a year, and the room was quite messy + she thinks she is the room owner, so my sister must be under her control, and do what she want to. The village is located quiet far from St. Leonard train station, if you don't have many belongings or be a light traveller, it's the perfect place for your soothe accommodation, but if you have much luggage with heavy weights, the first moving in day and the check-out day will be your marathon day. Safe trip!

Would not stay here again if I were paid to, bathrooms are dark and dodgy, falling apart with loose tiles and broken toilet paper dispensers, seats that aren't properly attached to toilets, most days toilets had urine or feaces on them which we had to clean ourselves before using along with no soap in the pump dispensers at the sinks, didn't seem to be cleaned even once during our week visit. rooms are OK but show their age and neglect sorely. We were not shown around the building so for most of the week we were lead to believe the small kitchen on our level was our only option until we discovered the much larger more equipped option downstairs hidden down one of the hall ways along with a lounge room and games room but this was OK as we explored Sydney most days and laughed it off . All this was acceptable until one of our last days when I witnessed who I'm guessing to be a cleaner put an open lemonade bottle with what looked very much like urine on the kitchen sink right in front of us, the fact he was wearing gloves and holding it away from him also suggested it was something nasty, I'm guessing the guests from the room he was cleaning could not make it to the toilet down the hall in time so they used a bottle, that was the nail in the coffin to us never coming back. I'm sure other guests have had a much better experience and this could just be a one off due to bad guests but still was enough for us.

Worst place in Sydney. The only people who can say something good about this place are the only people who gets money from it. I travelled a lot, been to many hotels, but in this one for the first time I saw a room occupate by unknown people. Me and my partner booked a room and someone else who was supposed to be already check out was in there. I don’t say anything about how dirty it was or all the others problem of the room but honestly I would prefer to sleep at the bus stop then there, at least the bus stop it more clean and it’s free

I would give it zero if I could!Staff members are rude, ants in kitchen no room cleaning! My room looks like it hadn’t been cleaned in a few years! Very cold in room in winter. They give you a thin sheets on bed. Better off saving money and finding another place better ran and more enjoyable

low key quiet friendly place.this accommodation is far too overpriced. a room in a nice motel is cheaper and much better with your own bath room.Rooms are ok reasonable size and clean . bed desk chair chest of drawers cupboard. no air conditioning or fans or fridgefree wifi is available which my laptop liked but my phone hated.no room servicing but you can request change of linen to do it yourself.Laundry has good Maytag machines at $1×2 per wash and same to dry. small clothes line is available.Great TV & games & table tennis seperate rooms as well as 2 large lounge rooms.excellent size grounds with bbq tables and swimming pool.enormous size main ground floor kitchen with several gas stoves and adequate appliances and pans, utensils and large fridge spaces along with kitchen .the general maintainable of the building especially plumbing is a real disappointment with water leaking on floors and taps not turning off, sinks blocking up, showers were hot and cold with broken fixtures a plastic curtains that are never changed. this did not change in the 3 months I stayed.the is amply car parking. the train station is about 11 mins walk quite hillythere is an IGA Post Office Coffee Shop Bottle O approx 500m walk. larger shopping areas about a 2-4kl walk.staff are friendly and helpful and I cannot commend their efforts enough. great help people and many thanks for making my stay the best. you guys rock!!overall my stay was on the while pleasant but I wouldnt recommend it as a good place to stay overall. its basic but very overpriced.

Literally perfect spot in my price range! Was worried when my room didn't have power but was given the best help and moved to another room right away. Not sure if the service desk hours are accurate however! Pool was amazing and kitchen and facilities impeccable.

Great value. Pretty basic, but not bad for what it is. Rooms are old but fairly clean. Shared bathrooms, also pretty clean. Shared kitchen too, cleanliness depends on who else has used it recently. Mostly full of students, so has a pretty studenty vibe, sometimes not as quiet as it could be. Admin is friendly enough but occasionally tricky to get a hold of. About 5 minutes walk from 2 different stations, and pretty easy to find.

Its a budget accommodation so what you pay, that you will get. If around and need place just to crash for night or two, it's good. If you want to spend less and expect more it's not for you. You have to compromise things to live here. Sharing bathroom, laundry, kitchen and it will not be as you would expect.

I stayed here from 14/7/2016 to 31/07/2016.I got the single room. The reception was very kind enough to give me a long term price instead of the short term stay. The room was good enough for a single person to stay and study. There was a heater as well which is very useful during the winter. However, the room seemed a bit old and rundown, but it was the best for what I paid for anyway. The bathroom and kitchen were okay. Beside the fact that the place is quite old, everything is okay for me.The other tenants were quite friendly as well. The place was quiet enough for students to focus on their study. There is a cinema room, a small library and a gym inside as well. Also, there was free wifi throughout the property except that it will auto disconnect on my mobile. The reason I only gave 4 stars because of it was quite far from the accommodation to the nearest train station. The bus stop was there at the corner; however, it only came every 1 hour which is really hard as I had to walk 1 km everyday from the train station to the accommodation.Overall, I am happy with my stay with GVA.
