Piano By Ear - Piano lessons for adults and teens

I've been working with Marco for a number of months and its been a great experience. I've always been wanting to learn Piano and finally at a very late age I started. Marco has been a great mentor and teacher in my journey with music .. his approach expressing music as a language to play with your senses has worked was a eye opener for me. His ability to transfer his knowledge and focus are rare attributes. I highly recommend anyone who is starting out or has been playing for a long time to spend a bit of time with Marco, I'm sure he will open your eyes and ears like never before.

Marco has been instrumental (pardon the pun!) in my journey of learning to play the piano… I’ve had lessons with Marco over the space of 5-6 years so far and I plan to continue long into the future!

Before I found Marco I had been playing for many years. Like most, I would start with a score and learn it like a parrot until I could play it. I could only play if there was a score in front of me. I started getting very bored and was in danger of giving up (again).I wanted to play many of the covers I heard on Spotify or YouTube, but often the arrangement was by ear only with no written score available. So I started getting the songs transcribed by professional transcribers. Again, this was expensive but it proved to be a very unsatisfying experience.I always thought playing by ear with either a gift you were born with or not. Eventually I came to the realisation that it might be possible to play by ear, so I decided to give Marco a try. A good decision, he is the best teacher I have had by far.His methodology is completely different to other teachers. He tailors the lessons to your level and goals with no written scores. He mentors you and when he identifies a weakness he targets the problem. He is very patient and a good listener. He explains things in simple terms. He is very generous with his time and actually enjoys teaching.At the start I was a little sceptical if I could do it, but 12 months on and I have just completed my first transcription of a simple piano solo. I have a long way to go, but yes it is possible to play by ear.I unreservedly recommend Marco if you want to play the piano and not the score.

Since commencing lessons with Marco my passion for playing the piano has returned in abundance. His teaching methods are incredibly engaging and have taught me a new level of appreciation for music. Marco is an incredible teacher and musician. My goal when starting his lessons.was to be able to play the instrument, rather than just learning songs by reading the notes. Marco has helped me see that my goal is attainable and I have gained a lot of confidence since starting with him. But, most importantly, Marcos piano lessons helped me rediscover my love for playing the piano.

Marco is the best. Over the last few years I had tried to take up piano lessons a few times and just never really clicked with the teachers and their methods. Everything clicked with Marco. He’s super passionate about everything music, extremely knowledgeable, patient, and generous with his time.

Marco has been a wonderful teacher to my daughter. His way of teaching is so efficient yet fun that for the last 4 years I have never had to force my daughter to practice piano because she would just jump into practicing to beat the exciting challenges that he assigned to her. I'm very happy seeing such a great progress that she's been achieving. Marco is also very patient and encouraging. His way of teaching is really motivating and you'll never get bored. I would highly recommend Marco to anyone who wants to learn to play piano and who wants to develop/ improve some very specific set of music skills but hate being moulded into a traditional classical pianist.

By far the best TEACHER you will find. Has a great understanding of the processes and techniques required to efficiently learn all aspects of piano. From technique, ear training, chord and scale memorisation, understanding how songs are composed, and everything else you can think of. Also just loves what he does and a great positive attitude, will get the best out of you!
