At 32 years of age I have trained here now for 8 months and it has transformed my life. Have lost around 12kgs to date and am fitter and healthier than ever. Words cannot describe how passionate, devoted and authentic Sifu Vargas is with his approach to JKD located in Melbourne. He has been all over the world and trained with the best. I have been training with him for 9 months now and it has been one of the best experiences of my life. At 33 years of age and having never trained in Martial Arts before, I had to be sure I chose the right style/system and most importantly, the right teacher! I chose JKD due to sports injuries which limit certain movements. Other styles/systems do not cater for this. Sifu Vargas and I have since worked through these. This is the beauty of JKD, there are no limitations! Highly recommended for a truly life changing experience.

What can I say? Sifu Ricardo Vargas is such a genuine, warm, passionate teacher. I cannot imagine having anyone else as my guiding light on my personal martial arts journey.He is superbly qualified. I have been training with Sifu Ricardo for 5 months now and cannot recommend it enough. Classes include a mix of students of different levels which allows for peer to peer feedback and training, as well as the professional guidance of Sifu Ricardo.I love that the classes don't just focuse on the fighting techniques, but also the spirit and philosophy of JKD and Bruce Lee. Everything that we do has meaning and purpose.

My name is Jake and I have autism and mental illness. Training with Ricardo Vargas has been very helpful to me as individual with a disability. I find Bruce Lee's and Ricardo's philosophy to be very life affirmative and positive. I believe their philosophy shows how we can unite all people, regardless of whether they have a disability based on the practice of martial art. As people with disabilities often experience marginalization in the wider community and often are vulnerable, the philosophy and art of Jeet Kune Do can offer them a tools to defend themselves and also how to lead fulfilling lives in the context of their disability. Ricardo and the philosophy of Jeet Kune Do have shown me ways to defend myself, but more importantly how to cultivate my individuality through the application of physical and mental effort.In the spirit of Jeet Kune Do

My girlfriend and I visited Ricardo as we passed through Australia while visiting and seeing the sites. As a couple who does martial arts regularly and as a school owner and Jeet Kune Do teacher myself, I could not recommend Ricardo high enough.
