Alison Glew Guitar School

Both of my daughters have lessons at Alison Glew Guitar School and they love it!!! Alison and her teachers are awesome talented people and make the lessons fun and enjoyable for all ages teaching guitar on a wide variety of songs and music. Highly recommend booking lessons, get yourself playing on the guitar and then perform in one of the showcases Alison puts on every year. Rock on!!!

Our son has been part of Alison's school for just over six months now. He loves his lessons and is a sponge for all his teacher has to offer him. As parents we are really impressed and grateful to have connected with Alison and her teacher's approach in building confidence and life skills in the students as they develop in their love, skill and appreciation for music.

My daughter struggled with wanting to practice regularly, which is hard for any nine year old learning guitar, but the teachers at Alison Glew guitar school have helped encourage her to practice by focussing on the songs she enjoys playing.They find technical challenges within those songs which help her learn, like finger picking, strumming patterns and ways to get better at harder chords in their own arrangements.So my daughter has come to find playing a joy and we even jammed the other night with her choosing chords and a strumming pattern, and me on sax. I was impressed with how far she's come.Alison also organises showcases each year where the kids get a chance to perform for each other and an audience in a professional environment which gives them all performance practice.The only addition I would love to see added is the formation of rock bands or small ensembes for the students (admittedly rock band would be hard for a guitar school to do without the inclusion of drums, bass etc..)Overall, I would recommend this school for people who love guitar and want to learn in a friendly professional environment with professional teachers.

As an adult student I highly recommend Alison Glew Guitar School. I have learnt so much and love every class I do. Started off having private lessons with Alison, then added singing lessons with Bayley and now group guitar lessons with Ben!! Can’t get enough of it! If you have ever thought about learning or furthering your guitar knowledge, this is the place to go.

Alison has everything you look for in a music teacher! She translates her own natural ability into comfortable learning steps for all levels from beginner to advanced and adds plenty of encouragement and opportunity along the way. As a Ukulele newcomer I was on the lookout for online lessons to help me get started. I came across the Alison Glew Guitar School and, as I lived nearby, I signed up for her beginner Ukulele group workshops.Alison is a very patient teacher and has a wonderful ability to relate to people, making us eager to learn and instilling confidence in our playing. Her on-line resources are straightforward and comprehensive and her Zoom workshops work well. She is always willing to adapt her classes to focus on a particular song you would like to play.I always look forward to my Ukulele lessons and now I have been taught how to play a few chords I can enjoy playing along with many songs.I highly recommend Alison as a teacher.

I am Oscar and I’ve been doing guitar for nearly 4 years and I love it. My brother has also started to learn this year and he is very good and he loves it too. It is great fun and we would recommend Alison as a teacher as she is very friendly and helpful. We love having the freedom to play whatever song we want to learn just by asking. We find it lots of fun and you will too.

Great atmosphere and supportive teachers for learning guitar. My kids enjoyed guitar lessons so much that they have gone from zero to playing for friends and family events. I've also managed to catch the music bug and give it a go. Music teachers are not only gifted musicians but genuinely care for students allowing them to pick their tunes and develop their skills in an enjoyable way. I highly recommend them to help you unlock the guitar and all the enjoyment that a life with music brings.
