The Avenue at Montville

My now wife and I spent our honeymoon up here and couldn't be happier with our stay. Thankyou guys for having us. We will be returning.

was a beautiful, clean, huge comfy bed and very generous brekky supplies. Margaret and Philip were wonderful and were so helpful. Gorgeous views and cute cat!

Big house great for a group. We were up for a wedding. The views were amazing.The problem was it needs a deep clean. Everything in the kitchen needed to be cleaned before we could use it. The cupboards needed to be wiped over, the bathroom downstairs needed a good clean, especially the handle of the shower.

The cottage at The Avenue was perfect for our Anniversary weekend. It’s light, bright, cosy and comfortable with everything you need. We liked that it’s more modern compared to other places...open plan living and dining and a beautiful bathroom with a lovely HUGE shower. We really enjoyed the log fire....this is a must for anywhere we stay in the area. Margaret and Philip have put a lot of thought into the styling and inclusions in the cottage. It’s a very considered space which we thoroughly enjoyed. There were some lovely surprises too. Thank you both for making our Anniversary weekend so memorable.

Fabulous tranquil place with lovely atmosphere. Quality fittings, everything you could want and it's a one off...not one of many cottages so feels special. Great hosts.

I booked for 2 nights at the Avenue on Airbnb back in October for an anniversary trip to Montville not knowing I'm about to have the best time in this small little cottage.There are so many reasons to love this humble accommodation but I'd like to highlight our hosts and their attention to details as the number 1 reason this place is so wonderful. Especially with COVID 19 restrictions in mind, I think Margaret and Phil did a great job in providing a clean and private space while still being thoughtful about our experience.While the beautiful scenery surrounding this cottage speaks for itself, the room was set up beautifully with a romantic and relaxing vibe in mind to help us set the mood for the few days to come.Everything is prepared for you upon arrival. Parking out the front. Kitchen fully equipped. The fridge was filled with a variety of breakfasy food for 2 and some more. There are free wifi, a guide book to all the local must-try places and available mobile services. They also provided complimentary candles for us. The living room also has board games and a great selection of movies on DVDs. On top of everything, they also have insect repellent sprays and other amenities you might forget when going on a trip to the hinterlands as well. It was as if you're traveling with your parents who knows exactly what you'll need and have it ready for you!Another point I'd like to highlight is how conveniently located this place is. You'd be around 5-10 minutes (or even less?) from lake Maroon and Kondalilla Falls. 15-20 minutes to town. We were close to everything but far enough to not be disturbed.It is also pretty affordable to stay here as well so I truly don't have any complaints. The only thing I regret is not staying for longer.I wasn't able to leave a review on airbnb for some reason but I'd just like to say a big thank you to Margaret and Phil for taking care of us and we wish them all the best. Can't wait to return here for my next trip to Montville! ❤

The host has thought of everything here. From the tea and coffee selection, the soft home-felt bedding to the thoughtful familiar surroundings, making it a home away from home. The cottage has everything so well placed, it leaves you feeling at ease immediately. And the backdrop, offers open fields with horses roaming free, nestled among the trees. The perfect weekend away, in close proximity to all the attractions, on and off the grid.
