Duck Reach Power Station
It was a great walk from along the river to reach this historical power station. The power station has turned into a museum which shows you the history. The view and bridge is fantastic.

Beautiful, easy walk to the Cataract Gorge. You do need good footwear and the track can be slippery when wet. There are some stairs to be aware of throughout the track. Highly recommend!

Recently came here with the family. The steps down were pretty steep but our toddler was still able to manage with supervision. There is a long suspend ridge across the river which was a lot of fun though might be scary if you don't like heights. There is a video presentation on the history of the power plant and some great restored machines. Thoroughly enjoyed it here.

We walked here from Cataract Gorge and we definitely recommend doing this walk. It is all free and free parking at the Cliff Ground Carpark. It is steep but worth it. There is an awesome bridge located at the power station to walk across and there is heaps of information on the hydro process back in the day.“Jonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

The Power Station is well worth the look. We were quite surprised at how much time we spent here reading all the information boards and watching the video presentation.

This is such a great place. You can spend a few hours here as there is so much to do and most of it free! You can go for walks along the tracks, which are first class. You can use the free BBQ areas, kids park, swim in the pool, swim in the gorge, use the park area. There are good toilet facilities located here. It does cost to park your car here, though it is reasonably priced. The walking trails are first class as mentioned earlier. We walked up to Duck Reach Power station. You get to walk over two suspension bridges along the way, the walking trails are in really good condition and you “hug” the cliff walls and at times on platforms hanging off the cliff walls. There are one or two steep sections, one at that switch back and the stairs. The power station is opened up during daylight hours and was a real surprised when we got there. There is a video that plays on a loop via a data projector and is of really good quality. The remnants of the power station are still there, along with lots of information about its history. This walk was a real highlight. My wife and I are in our fifties and were able to complete the walk no problems, I highly recommend this walk and enjoy the park.

Fabulous walking trail to the power plant!!! The plant itself has a small video presentation and some of fit out from the working plant days. Certainly worth popping in for a look. The trail there is a reasonable hike with lots of winding stairs, make sure you wear appropriate footwear.

Omg I loved our visit here. I'm totally into the old engineering type stuff and Duck Reach Power Station was impressive! It's quite a few steps down from the carpark then of course back up at the end. By the time you do the steps plus the power station you'll end up spending around 30 - 40 minutes. If you like old engineering stuff then you'll love this place.

This place is so peaceful and beautiful. View is superb. The hanging bridge is such a historic place to walk by. Lovely to take selfie photos here. You can learn so much about the history of this power station and flooding history of Launceston. It is a short walk from the car park to the Duck Power Station, however the stairs are super steep. It is a must-visit for someone to travel to Launceston.
