Started bringing my son when he was 3 years old, he’s been doing it for 2 years and loves it! Excellent discipline, excellent incentives to keep “the little ones” interested and motivated. The black belt instructors are superb with the students. It’s not a 30 minute “slog”, they keep it fun but in a structured way

As a teacher myself, i know what makes a great educator. Sensais Rossco and Dylan are some of the very best educators I have seen. They are passionate, patient and professional. Every child is seen and cared for. Shobukan Karate Joondalup is a really wonderful place of learning. Our daughter loves it.

The teachers are all fantastic with the kids- patient, engaging and fun but also they set clear expectations for each lesson. The discipline and focus required has made a positive impact too. We enrolled our now 8yr old son in the Little Samurai programme at Shobukan Joondalup & couldn’t be happier. He has progressed so much in 2 years and is in the Young Samurai Program now.The instructors are amazing with all the students, they are so patient, encouraging, nurturing & you get fantastically qualified & experienced teachers in every class every time.Lewie was very shy & timid before he started Shobukan and his attention span was very short, but a few weeks in we could see a massive difference.The skill stripe system and earning badges keeps them excited & motivated and the confidence is very visible.Its a family-run business and all classes are very family orientatedI would thoroughly recommend Shobukan for any family. I train at shobukan martial arts and I absolutely love it!! The instructors are so nice and friendly, and the dojo itself feels clean every single time I attend a class! Not only have I learnt some cool moves from kata and kumite, I am learning/ being taught discipline in life, and that’s a great thing. I feel confident during and after every karate lesson! Anyone that is wanting to do karate… PICK SHOBUKAN!!!!

We have been coming to the Shobukan with our now 7 year old daughter since October 2019. We cannot recommend the Shobukan highly enough. Our first week not only did we learn karate but the importance of being healthy. We’ve gone on to learn so much about respect, pride, determination, setting goals, just to name a few. The physical side of karate has also been so good for her coordination and confidence. If you are thinking of joining the Shobukan family, just do it!

This programme is absolutely fantastic to build confidence. My son was extremely nervous and anxious but the staff at Shobukan Martial Arts made him feel secure and confident helping him ease into the class with one on one attention. By the end of first class my son was loving every minute of it. To top it off, the instruction personally called to check in on my son which I felt was so fabulous and considerate.
