The Salt Mill Kingscliff
I’m not one to complain normally but this place is terrible. The coffee was unbelievably weak, the pastries are at least 2 days old and the breakfast bagels taste like they have been cooked in a deep fat fryer. On top of that they over charged me $10 and I didn’t realise until later that day.

No dine in coffee cups for the tables, just paper and plastic lids :(. #wasteI returned with own cup and had an espresso. Rating includes very reasonable $3 espresso price, though I can’t understand why there’s always a line, it can’t be for the flavour I’d the coffee which is a little above average

I grabbed a takeaway coffee. No interaction from the staff as they were busy talking amongst themselves about travelling and seeing the world. It is what it is. A hole in the wall, quick takeaway coffee grab.

Really good coffee, super friendly staff and excellent opening hours. The barista knew my name and order after my 1st visit and was super friendly to chat to. The coffee was very nice - best I had in Kingscliff. It also open very early and stays open till quite late in the day which made it extra convenient.Highly recommended!

Good quality simple fare! Lovely creamy coffee, friendly service peaceful ambiance slightly away from the more “strip shopping cafes” worth the 2 minutes walk south from the car park out front of them! Try the Fig and Grain slice is my recommendation for a sweet treat!!

This was great lovely service and they were very accommodating of allergies for a member of the group. They took the time to help us figure out what we could eat and change. When the food came out it was delicious. Yum.

Great coffee and friendly staff. Walking distance to cudgen creek, a must visit when in kingscliff! Check out the store next to where you order coffee, they've got cool cards and ceramic coffee cups for sale.

I recently had the pleasure of spending 3.5 weeks in Kingscliff, visiting from the US (split my time between New York, San Francisco, and SoCal). Those metro areas are becoming saturated with juice bars and coffee shops, including many that are Aussie-inspired; now I totally understand why. They’re trying to capture the magic I experienced at The Salt Mill, which nails it from lattes to avo toast to smoothie bowls. Most of my mornings started with a latte here (always satisfying), and I often supplemented with a filling bite after my morning workout. The avo toast is probably the best I’ve ever had, with a fantastic blend of spices (coriander!) and seeds adding a ton of flavor. The Coconut & Cacao açaí bowl with added peanut butter became my staple order, overflowing with goodness and tropical fruits. Even the chia pudding, paired with full-fat yogurt and some fruit compote (mango or raspberry) was a standout.Friendly faces, great vibes, excellent food, and a fantastic part of any day in Kingscliff.
